Warning: you may or may not get alcohol poisoning/die if you play this with alcohol, depending on how rigidly you stick to these rules and how much of the Cosmere you read/listen to. if you don’t drink alcohol and/or don’t want to risk alcohol poisoning while playing this, you can substitute with sleep deprivation and any drinkable substance. sleep deprivation provides a similar-ish mindset to that of being drunk, and the drinkable substance is for the drinking part. you can also use small snacks. best to play this only if you’ve read the entire Cosmere to avoid spoilers.
REMEMBER TO STOP DRINKING IF:
you see that the eyes of the shades around you are turning green or red
your friend is taking you to see the leader of a faction that attempted to kill the person you were hired to protect
you need to finish an important proposal for your appointed parliament
you’ve had one cup of blue wine, if you (or your parents) follow the Codes. however, you may keep to the orange
you see your own dead body at any place around you
an old friend of your spouse’s offers you drugged alcohol as a means to be removed from your prison (burning duralumin and pewter WILL NOT suffice as an antidote!)
you are faking a religious fast to fool the ruler of Teod into thinking you can heal Elantrians
you must fight someone who has claimed you have betrayed the Diem
you haven’t stored enough health in your goldmind to heal you from your level of alcohol consumption
you can’t understand what you’re reading/listening to
always drink responsibly, and don’t drink/be sleep deprived and drive. with that in mind:
Kaladin thinks about someone we haven’t met in flashbacks yet
someone’s hair changes colors
Sixth sees his own dead body somewhere
someone new arrives in Elantris
a character reveals another name they are known by
Adolin mentions someone he has courted/is courting (not counting Shallan, unless you’ve decided to be unnecessarily hardcore about this)
someone reminds Kenton of his own inadequacies
someone makes an incorrect assumption about Silence/what Silence is doing
Shallan forcibly represses surfacing memories
someone looks towards/at Elantris and has a negative reaction
Kelsier leans against something
a female character’s voice is described as “feminine”
Shallan describes Jasnah’s attractive characteristics in extreme detail
a character gets stabbed, specifically with a spear
Spook bitterly reminisces about how ignored he is
a main character goes to/is in prison
Khriss shows up in person
an unnamed but specifically described character dies
the Shu-Dereth monasteries are mentioned
a character discovers that Susebron has no tongue
something blows up/a large amount of things are set on fire all at once
two female characters interact in a friendly (or, at the very least, not outrightly hostile) manner for more than two pages (this does not include mentor/student interactions)
you read/hear the phrase “I am a stick”, in that order
Szeth kills someone important to a government system
the number sixteen is mentioned
someone calls Marsh “Ironeyes”
Finish your drink every time:
a character’s hair is described as ‘well-styled’
someone is implied to be summoning the Dor in an unexplained and cryptic way
Vin kills one of Elend’s relatives
a character’s safehand is exposed
you feel an incredible sense of secondhand embarrassment because of a character’s actions
someone’s eyes change colors
a character that is confirmed to be LGBT+ is introduced by name
Adonalsium is name-dropped
a character is revealed to be a kandra
someone casually mentions the cosmere (as in the colloquial term for the universe)
someone who was thought to be dead/died turns out to be not dead (anymore, in some cases)
Have fun (and again please drink responsibly I beg of you)!
