What’s the point of watching a show if I can’t make a silly little au based off a fan theory from before the second volume released? I love combining two fandoms I like and the wizard of Oz theory for Camazotz was my favourite.
And it’s just cool with how perfectly these characters lineup with the Oz counterparts
Dorothy/Holly- a girl taken away from a nightmare and ripped from her family before being placed in a dream like utopia.
Scarecrow/Max- both being without a brain (with max being speculated being brain dead by the hospital staff)
Tinman/Billy- heartless and cold. They both have the potential to show and express emotion but they only realise this once it’s too late (tinman realising he has a heart once Dorothy is leaving- Billy only once he sacrifices himself for El to the meat puppet mind flayer)
Lion/Eddie- Cowards to their core they will run at the first showing of danger. They believe themselves to not possess bravery, despite the fact that even when they are afraid they will still face adversity for their friends.
Now I was split between placing Henry as the wizard (the man behind the curtain controlling the illusion) or the wicked witch (the end goal of the party’s journey and what they must overcome). In the end I’ve kinda landed on Henry being the witch but the mind flayer is the wizard, as in the end the flayer is the one pulling the strings and above all
