but have you considered lockwood is just a heck of a lot angrier? ghosts took his parents, and jessica, and sykes, and now in a way they took lucy, too, and he might be powerless to fix any of that but he sure as heck is not powerless to fight ghosts now, in this moment, and he’s going to do whatever it takes to get rid of them—and make sure, make quite sure, that no ghost ever has the opportunity to steal away someone else he loves.

they're partners, they're roommates, they know each other better than anyone, they barely know anything at all, they're in love, they don't really know what that means, she's a runaway, he's a homeowner, they both try to do everything themselves, he's a schemer, she thrives on spontaneity, he's a professional ragebaiter, his biggest competition is a skull, they hold hands all the time, they're just friends, they have the same best friend, she thinks she's fine all on her own, she needs at least two roommates to keep her alive, he loves testing out new accents, she thinks they all sound dumb, they're always the reason the other one's in danger and they're always the reason the other one makes it out.

Like when Lucy admits she snooped in Jessica's bedroom to Lockwood in the catacombs. He's immediately pissed off, his first reaction is justifiable frustration and anger. And then he tells (probably concussed) Lucy "go walk through that gross water" and she does, and they're good after that. He doesn't really hold it against her afterwards. He doesn't hold her shitty apartment against her either. And you can say well it's because she's Lucy, he's in love with her! But it's the same for Kipps. If Kipps pushed him, Lockwood pushed right back. But it never became a long term vendetta. Lockwood doesn't really let petty resentment fester. It could be seen as a more positive aspect of his intense desire to never look back on anything.
