Serious question here: I've finished reading all the Bridgerton and Rokesby books and enjoyed them really reeeally much.
So, for those who've read all the other Julia Quinn books, are they worth it??
And for those who have watched the Bridgerton Netflix show, is it good? I've read that it's amazing, but after enjoying the books so much I don't know if it's going to let me down.
Iβve read all of Julia Quinnβs book and hereβs a rating of them:
Bridgerton series: read it, but not her best work
1) The Duke and I (Daphne Bridgerton & Simon Basset/Duke of Hastings)οΏΌοΏΌ
2) The Viscount Who Loved Me (Anthony [Viscount] Bridgerton & Kate Sheffield)οΏΌ
3) An Offer From a Gentleman (Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie οΏΌBeckett)
4) Romancing Mr Bridgerton (Penelope Featherington &οΏΌ Colin Bridgerton)
5) To Sir Phillip, With Love (Sir Philip Crane & Eloise Bridgerton)
6) When He Was Wicked (Michael Stirling/Earl of Kilmartin]
7) Itβs In His Kiss
8) On The away To The Wedding
Smythe Smith Quartet: read it, if itβs the last thing you do.
1) Just Like Heaven (Honoria Smythe-Smith & Marcus Holroyd/Earl of Chatteris)
2) A Night Like This (Daniel Smythe-Smith/Earl of Winstead & Anne Wynter)
3) The Sun Of All Kisses (Hugh Prentice & Lady Sarah Pleinsworth)
4) The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy (Sir Richard Kenworthy & Iris SmytheβSmith)
Overall ; 9/10
Probably my favourite of all her book series. All, pardon the last one, had very good plot lines, well executed romance and I genuinely fell in love with this family dynamics that we briefly catch mention of in other books. (Even a mention of the Bridgerton Family!)
Bevelstoke : must read
1) The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (Miranda Cheever& Nigel Bevelstoke/Viscount Turner)
2) What Happens in London (Olivia Bevelstoke & Sir Harry Valentine)
3) 10 Things I Love About You (Sebastian Grey/eventual Earl of Newbury & Annabel Winslow)
Overall ; 7/10
After rereading, first book didnβt really sit well with me. However, the first time reading it, I enjoyed it very much. (Take from that what you choose lol) What happens in london is my favourite in the trio and the communication was perfection. 10 Things I Love About You is full of a banter.)
Splendid Trilogy: could skip
1) Splendid (Emma Dunster & Alexander Ridgely/Duke of Ashbourne)
2) Dancing At Midnight (Lady Arabella Blydon & Lord John Blackwood)
3) Minx (Henrietta Barrett & William Dunford)
Overall ; 5/10
Splendid was very average and overall not her best work. Didnβt enjoy this series. Except Minx, which pleasantly surprised me as I came to adore the couple and their enemies to lovers romance)οΏΌ
Agents Of The Crown series: must read
1) To Catch a Heiress (Blake Ravenscroft & Caroline Trent)
2) How to Marry a Marquis (Elizabeth Hotchkiss & James Sidwell/Marquis of Riverdale)
Overall ; 10/10
Julia Quinnβs best work. 100% perfection. Read it. The two male MCs are best friends and their banter is just pure joy.
Two Dukes of Wydnham : skip.
1) The Lost Duke of Wydnham (Jack Audley & Grace Eversleigh)
2) Mr Cavendish, I Presume (Amelia Willoughby & Thomas Cavendish)
Overall ; 3/10
The events in both books overlap, so itβs just the same events repeated from different view points. I hated both books and honestly just finished them because I felt I was obligated to.
The Lyndon Sisters: if you liked her other books, read on.
1) Everything And The Moon (Robert Kemble/Earl of Macclesfield & Victoria Lyndon)
2) Brighter Than the Sun (Charles Wycombe/Earl of Billington & Ellie Lyndon)
Overall : 8/10
I really adored the second book but the first didnβt really meet the mark of the second as I read them in opposite order by accident.
