Bridgerton series: read it, but not her best work

Probably my favourite of all her book series. All, pardon the last one, had very good plot lines, well executed romance and I genuinely fell in love with this family dynamics that we briefly catch mention of in other books. (Even a mention of the Bridgerton Family!)

Bevelstoke : must read

1) The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (Miranda Cheever& Nigel Bevelstoke/Viscount Turner)

2) What Happens in London (Olivia Bevelstoke & Sir Harry Valentine)

3) 10 Things I Love About You (Sebastian Grey/eventual Earl of Newbury & Annabel Winslow)

Overall ; 7/10

After rereading, first book didn’t really sit well with me. However, the first time reading it, I enjoyed it very much. (Take from that what you choose lol) What happens in london is my favourite in the trio and the communication was perfection. 10 Things I Love About You is full of a banter.)

Splendid Trilogy: could skip

1) Splendid (Emma Dunster & Alexander Ridgely/Duke of Ashbourne)

2) Dancing At Midnight (Lady Arabella Blydon & Lord John Blackwood)

3) Minx (Henrietta Barrett & William Dunford)

Overall ; 5/10

Splendid was very average and overall not her best work. Didn’t enjoy this series. Except Minx, which pleasantly surprised me as I came to adore the couple and their enemies to lovers romance)

Agents Of The Crown series: must read

1) To Catch a Heiress (Blake Ravenscroft & Caroline Trent)

2) How to Marry a Marquis (Elizabeth Hotchkiss & James Sidwell/Marquis of Riverdale)

Overall ; 10/10

Julia Quinn’s best work. 100% perfection. Read it. The two male MCs are best friends and their banter is just pure joy.

Two Dukes of Wydnham : skip.

The events in both books overlap, so it’s just the same events repeated from different view points. I hated both books and honestly just finished them because I felt I was obligated to.

ZK Mythical Creatures Week Day 6: Greek Mythology

When I started thinking about mixing Zutara with a Greek myth for @zkmythicalcreaturesweek, I told myself I wanted to do something other than Persephone and Hades (I was intrigued by the idea of Hephaestus because he was disfigured by his parents and is the god of fire and metal working, but he and Aphrodite really didn’t have a happy marriage…). But then I suddenly had a strong mental image for Persephone/ Hades, so here we are. I pictured it in @dreadart’s slightly gothic style, so I tried my best to capture that. I don’t think I quite achieved it, but it was a fun exercise.

hiccup and tuffnut are an amazing duo in httyd. they’re both crazy and intelligent, but it’s like in their own way. hiccup would go to tuff if astrid wasn’t there, tuff would go to hiccup if ruff wasn’t there. It’s that simple.

I just feel like they have more of an interesting dynamic with each other more than they do with snotlout or fishlegs. I’ve been seeing a couple edits on tiktok (there should be more) that really show a different side of their friendship. In the series, we mostly see hiccup yelling at him for doing something stupid with his sister, but it’s kinda hard to see the side that actually shows where they feel comfortable and act like brothers/best friends.

It was that one episode where the twins cousin, gruffnut, came back in town and was causing trouble idk. I don’t really remember but somehow hiccup thought tuff was gruffnut and said “I think I know one of my best friends when I see him.” from this moment on, we now know hiccup refers to tuff as his BEST FRIEND. not just a teammate, dragon rider, or a friend, but a BEST FRIEND!!!

even though WE can see their unique bond behind the 4th wall, It seems like tuffnut is truly shocked by what hiccup thinks of him, or in this case, refers to him as. the impression of each other is a bit unrequited, which explains why tuff thought hiccup didn’t think of him like that. if tuffnut would’ve had been more attentive to him and hiccup interacting, (disregarding the scolding and lectures), then he could’ve been a lot more closer to hiccup sooner than he expected to be.

huh, in httyd 3, it seems like they’ve become more closer. or at least one of them has and the other just deals with it. in the third movie, tuffnut looks like he’s embraced in upping his friendship with hiccup. for example, he gets WAY more touchy and is all up in his personal space than what we’ve seen in rtte.

people finna pull the “he just acted that way to bring up marriage between him and astrid.” or “he was only a comedic relief to the film.”

The writers definitely chose tuffnut not to only be his “best man” but chose him to be hiccups literal mentor throughout the movie (alongside gobber obvi)

not snotlout. not fishlegs. not even eret. why tuffnut out of all of them?

since hiccup is most likely the talker in his relationship with astrid, he switches roles and gets to be the listener with tuffnut.

they’re like a quiet and loud duo. they bring out the best of each other. no wonder why hiccup picked him to be the uncle for his children, duh.

Don’t get me wrong, they both have wonderful bonds with the other dragon riders, idk it’s just something about hiccup and tuff being defined bffs gets me.

basically if they both had to have a go-to best friend aside from ruffnut and astrid, or belch and toothless, they wouldn’t hesitate to say each other.

2017 seb got a stop-go penalty for deliberately driving into lewis. 1997 michael got dsqed from the whole championship for intentionally crashing out jacques. suzuka 1989 senna was disqualified for crashing out prost. there are standards in the sport that are supposed to be upheld.

allowing drivers to get away with these things for several years (max's whole career effectively) allows these things to happen repetitively. max is all for snitching when other drivers don't follow the regulations perfectly (lando not lifting for double yellows last year, lando jump start in bahrain) but when he does it nothing happens.

Lando, back in early 2020, used to "raid" another streamer at the end of his streams, aka sending all his viewers to another streamer. He used to do this to small streamers so that they get some attention. One day that random streamer happened to be Bankai. Bankai is a very good video game player but at the time he had very few followers. Lando was impressed by his game play so he stayed to watch for a few moment. Bankai, who wasn't following F1 at the moment, had no idea who this "Lando Norris" is, and his fellow player (teammate in the game) told him "Lando is an F1 driver but he's not that good" 😅😂🤣

Since that day they started to play together. Important to know that Bankai is not privileged at the slightest, he was the sole income for his family and he streams because he needs it to earn money (his day job isn't quite sufficient to support the whole family). Especially when his son was born, back then for every sub he got he used to joke "Now I have money to buy my son diapers!"

So Lando's help is massive for him. Not just that Lando brings a huge number of followers to Bankai's channel, but also Lando himself has given a ton of subs to Bankai over the years, 1369 so far to be exact. Considering one sub is about $5, he has spent about $7k US dollars on Bankai on subs alone!

it's just that lando's glass half empty attitude has been a constant talking point since he entered f1. he's made so many comments over the years that people noted as self-critical and pessimistic, and they assume that his attitude was what was blocking him from winning. but it seems that lando probably doesn't really agree with that, in that he thinks that what matters is doing the work, not giving up, no matter what you believe—not believing and doing the work anyway.
