I feel like Armand is so old that, in some ways, he accidentally loops back around to being more "woke" than some modern vampires. Not because he's especially progressive by modern standards ofc, but because he never internalized certain conservative concepts that are actually quite modern. A lot of ideas people treat as timeless would probably strike him as relatively recent inventions that he wouldn't get at all. Like thinking of sexuality like an identity one is instead of an act one does. I don't think he would describe himself as gay or bisexual at all lol
