There is no “right time” to get better. The right time is when you decide that it’s time to get better. And it’s more than likely you will be making that decision in very small measurements, again and again and again.

I have so much love for the anorexics and bulimics who never looked the “stereotypical” way. I have known people whose bodies were so conditioned to hold onto weight that they never got the emaciated look, even if they were starving to the point that standing up made them faint. If this was you, then chances are no one noticed you were starving, no one noticed your pain or worried about you the way you deserved to be cared about. If this was you, your eating disorder was valid and you deserve to believe your own experiences and heal.
