its nice to know that this is something that other people do too.
Something I am coming to terms with about my ADHD is that I AM trying my best. And some days that looks different than other days.
Some days my best is writing an entire first draft of a manuscript in 3 days.
Some days my best is spending all day trying - and failing - to make myself read a single article for lab. On these days it doesn't feel like I did my best because I didn't produce tangible results. I've spent my life being told that I can do better, that I'm smart enough and talented enough to produce MORE.
I AM smart. I AM talented. But some days I simply can't produce. That doesn't mean I wasn't trying my best. It doesn't mean I wasn't DOING my best.
Forgive yourself and remember that your "best" changes from day to day and what you produce is not an accurate measure of your talent.
