Can someone please explain to me why people think transpeople are not REAL?
(My attempt to respond to statements that is against trans/transexual people.)
(Disclaimer: not native English speaker so please let me know if some expressions can be done more fluently)
Also, feel free to let me know what I have not think about or misinformed, unlike someone, I am open to all information
S: Trans people are not real because they are not born that way.
R: So is your education background, it is earned with time, money and hard work, and YOU ARE NOT BORN WITH IT, so if you valid someone else's education degree, you should also valid someone else's gender identity.
S: HE was born with a penis, HE cannot be a girl.
R: YOU were born with a placenta, YOU cannot be an adult. People grow and develop, some aspects of people changes as they grow. It's not that kind of a big deal.
S: Sex is a fundamental thing that doesn't change, and should not be changed.
R: Gender is a fundamental thing that attached to a person, not sex nor sexual functionality. Also, like men was never born to fly, flies anyway; People also used to against people from flying because it was not possible and not natural. Flying turned out to be ok. Transitioning was thought to be impossible, now it's possible.
S: Transitioning is not natural.
R: Transitioning is all over the animal kingdom, do your homework.
S: Transitioning in HUMAN is not normal.
R: You mean not common. Yes they are relatively rare, but does that mean they are not as valid? Are people born with green eyes less valid that others? Probably not.
S: Transitioning means that their genetic make-up is not aligned with their gender. It's wrong.
R: That. Is. The. Point. Their genes don't align with their gender, thats why we need transition.
S: Gender is defined by ones chromosomes. Males have XY, and females have XX.
R: Assigned SEX is defined by chromosomes, which then show up as genitals, Gender is defined by the genes make-up that scientists don't even know where they are located yet. So before we can do that genetic engineering to make someone not-trans before they are born, transitioning is the best option we got to make people happy, Like adaptation for people with born disabilities/ medical conditions.
S: Trans people cannot reproduce.
R: Um, it maybe expensive but they surely can? And by this definition will a person be defined as not their gender because a medical condition/procedure make them infertile? Also, closeted transpeople are more likely to make transbaby (if it's genetically related) So if your goal is to eliminate transpeople, you should start by letting them out(?)
S: Letting people be trans will make everyone be trans.
S: Providing school doesn't seem to make people less stupid tho. Transitioning is VERY EXPENSIVE and UNDERGO DETAILED PROCEDURES just to make sure people who really needed the transition gets it.
S: Trans people will destroy the construct of society.
R: Like any changes, human will transform the construct of society. People turned from Hunter-Gatherers to farmers to industry workers to internet users. We used to be a matriarchal society. Some people were not allowed to vote. Policies changes from time to time and that never seem to destroy human society.
S: I don't like Trans people, they creep me out.
R: First of all, you don't have to like them, you just have to respect them like any human being. Secondly, if transitioning is available earlier their age, they will look less "creepy" as they don't have to transition from adult to adult.
S: Doing transition is human playing as God.
R: Doing a heart surgery is human playing as God (?) Not giving medical procedure to someone in need is human play the Devil.
S: They don't NEED the procedure to survive.
R: But they NEED the procedure to be happy and productive to the society.
R: Whatever that is you're about to say, the Bible is not a good documentation of human history, the Bible is as established and "made up" by human as genders, gender roles and responsibilities, and one's religious beliefs have no power on another's life choices.
