so here’s the yearly reminder that witches (x) (and similarly-styled greedy ogre-type monsters) with giant hooked noses (x), big curly hair (x), have green skin (x), and big pointy hats (x), are rooted in hundreds of years of dangerous anti-jew propaganda within folklore (x, x) and European politics (x). (i myself would say green skin and hats are not indicative on their own, but are when paired with stereotyped ashkenazi jewish features). 

and! similar to white people but different in intensity, most poc are red toned, to a much higher degree.

and you have to up the brightness most times for poc, because the normal methods of doing light will just leave them looking a bit grainy, sometimes too dark to even see.

ive seen so many gifsets where black characters are almost completely obscured because the lighting is shit, I've seen more yellow toned brown characters get turned into pumpkins, I've seen pale asian characters get washed out, I've seen characters with redder tones get fuzzy and blurry, etc etc.

i started gifmaking on poc, and the difference is actually staggering. it takes more work to color poc, because honestly, there is more color to work with. with white characters, the colors you're most concerned about tend to be backgrounds, clothing, etc. but with poc, their actual skin tone can change very quickly with a few mistakes.
