It's probably already been spread around here enough already, but in case anyone's missed it; 7 hours after launch, commander Reid Wiseman, dealing with tech issues, uttered the generational quote "I have two Microsoft Outlooks and neither one of those are working."

After fixing the issues that were afflicting the onboard toilet, mission specialist Christina Koch (who has quickly become my favourite of the four) laughingly said “I’m the space plumber, I’m proud to call myself the space plumber.”

On Easter Sunday, the Artemis II crew hosted a makeshift egg hunt, by hiding packets of dehydrated scrambled eggs around their Orion capsule.

The way the crew always makes sure to make it very clear they're in space when doing interviews. From stuff like Wiseman just hanging out floating sideways on screen or Koch letting her hair loose so it can freely span out flowing around her.

While in transit, the crew decided to record a parody of those bad 80s sitcom intros where everyone turns and smiles at the camera.

When the crew reached the furthest point from Earth in the mission, they jokingly clambored over each other in an effort to get to the far side of the capsule, so that they could individually claim to be the furthest person from earth.

At the same time, on the ISS which was at the time on the other side of earth, the 7 astronauts onboard had a light-hearted race to the far side of the station, making jokes about being the furthest humans from Artemis.

On the way back to earth, NASA actually managed to establish an audio call between the crews of the ISS and Artemis II (where they shared the above info), and Koch called one member of the ISS crew, Jessica Meir, her "astro-sister" as the two of them previously spacewalker together in 2019. Meir then responded I'm so happy that we are back in space together, even if we are a few miles apart" (a few here being 230,000).

FOD hid coffee and socks in various supply bags for easter. When the crew found the coffee they stated they were having a little cafe moment

They supplied Jeremy, the Canadian astronaut, with maple cookies

Victor repeatedly distracted the SER (one of the console mission control groups) because he wouldn't stop doing sick spins and flips

The crew was completely silent when trump called and left him with an awkward full minute of dead air and literal thumb twiddling. The refused to speak with him so much they started doing 0g tricks with the mic instead of using it

They saw 6 lunar impact flashes which is more than the entire history of humanity. We haven't seen an impact flash with this much detail since the days of Apollo (which only saw 3)

During the eclipse, they took this photo which was unplanned (which is why it's grainy) and the astronaut took extra care to get Venus in the photo

If you wanna watch it I cannot recommend it enough; I just warn that it covers a LOT.

passing is kinda iffy cause yes passing can offer more safety but it really doesnt give you tangible privileges like being white and in a blue state does, because "passing privilege" can be revoked at any time as soon as the person is found out to be trans and not cis. i will say that as a passing trans man theres a huge social benefit to not being visibly trans, especially where i was from (bible belt, deep south) because if youre not visibly trans and no one around you knows youre trans you CAN just not disclose it, but also theres A LOT of situations where a trans man is either forced to disclose it (i was forced to disclose my transness just recently to my employer, and its completely legal to demand former legal names in a background check as well, and in my field theres background checks) or is outed against their will by someone who either knows or suspects theyre trans. like in the same way that "straight passing privilege" isnt really a thing because a. it involves deliberately hiding who you are, which is not a privilege its a response to oppression, b. as soon as the person in question is discovered to not be cishet they are at risk of possibly worse discrimination than if they were openly queer from the get go

ultimately, i think a lot of ppl rly do not understand the nuances of being a straight trans person specifically, as well as "passing privilege." btw just so we're clear my main critique of the idea of passing privilege is that while you do experience better treatment if youre stealth, its VERY EASY to be forced to out yourself or be forcibly outed, and its more common than youd think!
