i’m still:
on my tallest tiptoes
on that tightrope
on that trapeze
trying everything to get you laughing at me
trying everything to keep you looking at me
a believer, but i don’t know why
happy birthday to one of the best lyrics taylor has ever written:
Getting down on my knees and thanking the humans who invented dishwashers and washing machines.
InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. It’s a win win situation
They ALSO sterilize dishes, due to operating at a far higher temperature than human hands could ever tolerate. It's a win every way.
Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.

“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore.”

imgonnagetyouback is so good guys i’m not sure why we aren’t discussing this…
the pipeline of “i was tame, i was gentle til the circus life made me mean” to “i hate it here so i will go lunar valleys in my mind where they found a better planet only the gentle survived” really hurts
genuinely one of my favourite details about Bram Stokers Dracula that isn't really transferred to the pop culture is that vampires have irridescent eyes, they appear brown at a glance, however when light is reflected on them they seem to go red!
another thing that pop culture latched onto is this idea that you might use a wreath of garlic bulbs to ward off a vampire, however, in the book there is a popular use of garlic blossoms rather than the bulbs. i think these are a lot prettier and way more versatile for stylisation! you could have a garlic flower crown.
also like the cowboy part can we please stop omitting the fact that there is a real ass cowboy in Bram Stokers Dracula and hes from real ass Texas and he has a fucking gun and he tries to fucking shoot Dracula
who cares about shooting Dracula? the absolute best part of the book is when Quincey shoots at a bat that was probably Dracula and shatters a window in a room filled with terrified people that he didn't tell he was going to shoot at their room, and then tells everyone in that room that ever since he found out Dracula can turn into a bat he's just been walking the streets of London shooting at every bat he sees with his gun
the comedy is further compounded by the fact that bats are native to London and Quincey, by his own admission, often doesn't even hit them, he just shoots AT them
I reread that bit over and over again because it was just so fucking funny and I couldn't stop laughing
Pretty sure Bram Stoker weeps in his grave every time they make a film adaptation without this glorious himbo.
the thing you need to understand about carmilla countess karnstein is that she is a loser. she's absolutely drowning in blood bitches but she has to be because she is an immortal vampire noble who gets by on flirting her way into continual couch surfing. she has no job no house no car and no money. she sleeps all the way through the morning. she hears people singing and it pisses her off so bad that she needs her bestiecrush to hold her hand until she calms down. she's violently classist and loves to use the "wait until I tell my rich dad about this" line but, crucially, her rich dad is dead as fuck and has been for all living memory. she's a serial monogamist and she's fucking coasting on pretty privilege.
