its difficult having a favorite character who you have absolutely no attraction to but a lot of other people do. i love him. not like that. i dont even like him i hate him actually. hes just really important to me. Not like that. he lives in my brain. this thing anglophones do where their first response to seeing dutch is to start cracking jokes does piss me off though. the other day i posted something on bsky, a very trauma-laden phrase that my dad tells me constantly, and a couple people's first response was "haha, silly language, haha this word looks like this english word" like maybe shut the fuck up. maybe don't make fun of languages. you don't know what they're saying and you don't know if it's an appropriate moment to make fun. anglophones think they have permission to make fun of other european (particularly germanic) languages and idk what to tell you, go fuck yourself
