âEven if the Republican Congress stands up to Trump on the slush fund, it doesnât appear to be preparing to scrutinize, let alone unwind (if itâs possible) the corrupt release of the IRSâ claims against Trump and fam. Itâs a huge giveaway â $100 million, by some estimates â under extraordinarily corrupt circumstances. The improper leaking of Trump tax returns by an IRS contractor isnât a proper justification for dropping all of the IRS claims against Trump, let alone other civil and criminal claims the government may have had against him or his family members.â
â Will We NEVER Learn the Lessons of Trump?
"You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass."
Summarizing Trump's remarks to Netanyahu, the U.S. official said: "You're fucking crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."

The ruling was a blow to both President Trump, who had voluntarily dismissed the suit last week, and to the Justice Department, which used the suit to establish a fund likely intended for Trump allies.
A federal judge in Miami made a striking turnabout on Friday, reopening President Trumpâs $10 billion case against the I.R.S. and saying that she wanted to investigate âgrievous allegationsâ that the hasty deal to resolve it was âpremised on deception.â
The ruling by the judge, Kathleen M. Williams, was a significant blow both to Mr. Trump, who had voluntarily dismissed the suit last week, and to the Justice Department. After the president withdrew the suit, senior department officials released a pair of extraordinary agreements that settled the case by establishing a $1.8 billion fund to compensate people who claimed they were victims of government âweaponizationâ by Democrats.
The deal also conferred lucrative tax benefits on Mr. Trump, his family and his businesses.
Judge Williamsâs decision came in response to court papers filed on Wednesday by a bipartisan group of 35 former federal judges who urged her to bring the case back to life and dig into the details of the agreement to settle it.
"Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it," the judge wrote in his ruling.

There are so few of them, but they seem big. They seem bigger. Biggest. They seem all-powerful, but it's a lie. It's smoke and mirrors. They are fragile and few. They are barely there, a handful of assholes with a veneer of power and authority, and yet, in reality, they are terrified because as soon as you know they are nothing, they are done.
As soon as you know they are nothing, they are nothing....

There are strategies to improve healthcare, but US isn't trying them.
âAmericans pay more for health care, get less in return, and remain far more exposed to illness, debt, and insecurity than their peers,â the report concludes...
As has long been the case, the US spends far more on healthcare than any other of the 19 countries. In 2024, the US spent 18 percent of its gross domestic product on healthcare, nearly twice the average of all the countries, which was 9.3 percent. The second-highest spender after the US was Germany, with 12.3 percent.
Drilling down, the US spends far more on care per person than other countries and spends more on prescription medications. Americans are, by far, the most likely to skip medications, treatments, tests, and consultations due to costs.

(via Cities Are Covering Flock Cameras With Trash Bags)
The city of Dayton, Ohio has covered its Flock automated license plate reader cameras with black trash bags in part because police there are unsure whether the cameras are still active and the city also doesnât seem to know whether it is allowed to take the cameras down. The move comes after months of resident outrage, a scandal in which the city was sharing Flock camera data for immigration enforcement apparently on accident, and a $30,000 audit into how the cameras are being used.
