Will's college friends notice fairly quickly that Will has a type. The few boys he's actually dated and all the flings and fun flirting he's done are with the same genre of guys. Tall, dark curly hair, a little broody, kind of pretentious, usually a writer and always a bit of an asshole.
These relationships don't last long. They're clearly missing something that Will is looking for, but he continues to date the same kind of guys anyways. They don't get it, he clearly isn't happy with them, why doesn't he look for something else?
But then, out of the blue, he tells them he has a boyfriend!! His childhood best friend Mike. And they're all hesitantly excited for him because Will knows this guy! They have this history of being friends, so surely this guy is going to be different!!
They all agree to meet him when he is in town for a weekend. Supportive, but also looking to vet him a little.
They spot him sitting at the bar alone -- Will must have slipped away to the bathroom or something. Instantly, there is no doubt that this is the guy Will is dating.
Tall, dark curly hair, the most resting bitch face to ever exist. He looks to be exactly the same as all the rest. They all sigh, and begrudgingly approach him with a "you must be Mike, we're Willās friends" followed by "how'd you know," and "lucky guess,"
He's a little stand offish, which is pretty much what they expected. But then Will returns and they see a sudden shift in Mike. He absolutely lights up, goofy love-sick grin spreading over his face. They see Will light up too. And they're like. Oh. This guy is different.
Then he actually opens up, starts talking because Will is there now so everything is okay and they're like. Oh. This guy is such a fucking dork. He's perfect.
