😭My daughter, Farah, has a severe renal tubular disorder that causes dangerously low potassium levels and blood acidity. The condition can lead to extreme weakness, muscle paralysis, cardiac complications, and is considered a form of chronic kidney failure. She has been admitted to the ICU twice after life-threatening cardiac episodes. Medical reports confirm that she urgently needs continuous treatment and close monitoring, but the medications and medical services she depends on are unavailable💔🥹

"Farah had to undergo an urgent procedure and remains in the hospital. Her condition deteriorated—her potassium levels dropped to 2.2—forcing us to keep her in the hospital to receive intravenous potassium."

These are extremely low levels of potassium, putting Farah at risk of cardiac arrest. Intravenous supplementation of potassium must be done slowly - going too fast also endangers one's heart. This means Farah has to stay at the hospital, which, for a child like her, is very distressing. It is distressing for Wesal too.

"I feel like I am the one who will collapse to the ground, dead. I simply don't have the energy left; I am not a superhuman robot—I am a human being with limited stamina. The strain of standing, the constant vigilance and caution, and the need to monitor the IV drip—watching it fall drop by drop because the flow rate cannot be increased without risking adverse effects on the heart—have all taken their toll."

This is the second time that Farah has been admitted to hospital in a very short time. It is very costly, but there is no other option. The potassium supplements that Farah should be receiving have been unavailable for months now. We must keep Farah alive so she can be evacuated by the WHO when the opportunity arises.

Hell’s coffee

One morning, as you’re getting ready for RAD, there’s a soft knock at your door, surprising you more than when Mammon barges in.

Lucifer’s voice calls your name from the other side, “may I come in? I have something important to discuss with you before RAD.” More careful than you have ever heard him, and once he comes in with your permission, he silently shuts the door and walks towards you.

His eyes searches yours for a second, his brows are furrowed before his expression softens, looking almost forlorn.

“My dear, I have come here to apologise again for my behaviour, it was unacceptable,” he starts, pink lightly dusting his cheeks while he now struggles to meet your eyes. He is staring at the gloves you’re wearing, his own gloved hand reaching out to hold yours so gently, you’d believe he is handling porcelain.

When you try to speak, he softly cuts you off, “I understand that you may… no longer wish to associate with me. I know your feelings are wavering, I do not blame you.” Lucifer’s voice trembles ever so slightly, you’re barely able to catch it before he takes a deep breath and finally looks you in the eyes.

You stand there, taken aback by his words.

He smiles sadly, as if your reaction confirms something, “after the argument, you said you forgive me and that you still love me, but after everything, your heart doesn’t truly believe that, does it?”

He shakes his head ‘no’ like he is answering for you, “the coffee you’ve been making reflects your true feelings. It has lost its bitterness.” That tremble again. And it all clicks.

You look away as you bite your lip, considering your words for a second before turning back to him, hands gently squeezing his, “Lucifer, we… we ran out of hell’s coffee.”

“…”

“I’ve been using normal coffee…” your eyes scan his face as he processes the information. A moment passes with nothing before his shoulders visibly relax.

His back straightens, face trying to stay stoic, but his eyes betray the hope, the relief, the days-long pain, “does this mean I have been forgiven?”

You don’t answer with words, releasing his hands to cup his face, gently bringing it to yourself to kiss his cheek.

You can’t bring yourself to point out how hard he is gripping your arms, not when he melts at your kiss and sighs deeply.

He can’t bring himself to be mad at your little stunt, not when he knows that you love him still, despite his imperfections.
