I would like to visit my long distance girlfriend @puppymechpilot sometime within the next year. Unfortunately even a cheap flight to where she is would cost around $600, and I am currently not making money due to schools being out for the summer (I am actively looking for a better job than my current one as a substitute teacher). Being a westerner before you are racialized doesn't mean that they don't see your skin color before anything else. That means that the place that you live in affords you more material protections, support, and benefits than you would be given outside of the imperial core. This is like basic intersectionality, something that you all seem to forget the moment third worlders point out imperialism. And yet when you point this out a huge portion of racialized westerners on here will start throwing tantrums and trying to bully third worlders off this platform. You are not immune to being a western chauvinist just because you're not white.

Imagine the exact same circumstances of your life; your family treats you the same, society you treats you the same, your job treats you the same.

Now imagine *everyone* you know has very little money, 99% of every convenience you take for granted simply didn't exist, and you had to worry about other countries with stronger militaries invading and oppressing and dismantling yours on TOP of all that.

Like, holy shit, yeah I have had a hard time in life... and someone who went through the *exact same shit* as me but in a non-imperial country had it IMMEASURABLY worse, and the gulf between our experiences is the material conditions that were worsened and stolen from their country to enrich my own.
