Wow why do I have a good handful of old asks in my inbox I never answered. I'm so sorry to those who sent me asks in the past, I must have missed them or meant to reply and forgotten with how busy my life has been.

There were multiple asking if I will ever update dea again so as a general statement: My main goal is to finish JC if I finish anything. That being said, dea inspiration has been striking me a lot lately, more than I expected, so the likelihood of dea being continued is pretty high. I'm still not positive I can manage to finish it, but I'd love to try.

hi everyone, i dont know how many of you are still active or even pay attention to this blog anymore

a lot has happened, hasnt it? the world feels so crazy lately

i really miss my fics, and i still want to finish them super badly, but writing has gotten harder and harder these past few years if im being honest with you all

i come back to unforgiven, jambos coffee, dea, all the time. there was a period of time where i got too scared to write them anymore. i was afraid of a lot of things, i think the entire world felt like it was crushing me. im not sure if im fully out of that yet. but i still miss them.

i miss writing them, and how much fun this community had together, and how nice it was to talk with all of you

this is just a random update to let everyone know im alive, struggling but alive, and i miss you and the fics that brought us together. i felt like i needed to throw something out into the universe about it so here it is, just a random dumping of thoughts while I am thinking about it.

i hope to see you all again eventually. i hope i can finish the stories i wanted to finish. i think if i could even just finish JC id be happy. dea became so grand of a concept im not sure i can ever finish it the way i wanted to.

idk if any of you keep up with my blog still, but would like to say I am alive

i hate how there can be like 50 separate think pieces about cwilbur and ableist treatment in fandom but there's like zero thought or engagement about whether it's okay to exaggerate and villainize the most prominent (and for a while only?) addict character beyond recognition. like i think some people really need to analyze why they can only perceive cschlatt as an abusive monster when all his actions are foils to wilbur's

listen i don't do discourse but have you considered. have you considered. that maybe its because cc!schlatt intentionally played c!schlatt as the villain from start to finish. with little other motivation than Be Evil Dictator Man. whereas c!wilbur yknow like, had character motivation and a complex backstory behind his "Be Evil" actions.

(not criticising the way either of the ccs did their characters like sometimes u just need a guy whose just An Evil Guy because he's Bad cough Disney cough)

like yeah okay we can have a conversation about ableism in the fandom and we can talk about c!schlatt and honestly go crazy go nuts over whatever u want its all fiction anyway

but like, personal opinion there r more relevant examples. c!schlatt wasnt bad because Alcohol Bad Boo he was bad because. he was,,, a bad person. so.

i agree that c!wil tho is definitely an example that i personally would find more interesting to talk about in terms of his interpretation & stuff bc he has more complex motives and actions FROM MY POV (keeping in mind im biased cause i live laugh love ever bur ever)

c!Schlatt is actually very similar to c!Wilbur in that his actions are also rooted in a mental spiral and paranoia. c!Schlatt is completely and utterly convinced that everyone around him is out to get him. That is why he acts the way he does.

It's almost impossible to accurately analyze c!Schlatt as a character if you haven't watched SMPLive (which is, in fact, canonical to Dream SMP, just to be clear - at least for Connor and Schlatt), because SMPLive is what makes it clear that he's not just "a bad person for the sake of being bad", he's just a person who is just as prone to going down the wrong path as everyone else. In SMPLive, Schlatt isn't an "evil dictator" and it isn't his goal to be... He's just a petty cryptocurrency scammer who has a good relationship with his business partner and acts as a kinda shitty mentor to two teenagers he found and got attached to.

You may wonder how I know for sure the way c!Schlatt acts is because of paranoia... And besides just... Interpreting Dream SMP's text... It's obvious because he goes through the exact same spiral when he and Connor start drifting apart in SMPLive's Tekkit spinoff. He grows extremely paranoid and ends up hiring Technoblade as a hitman to take out the other competing companies because he's scared of them and wants to make himself look like a threat to not mess with.

And even in Dream SMP ITSELF it's obvious that c!Schlatt isn't just a one-dimensional villain - in Haunted Mansion, Glatt isn't actually evil at all... He's pulling an elaborate hoax with Connor, just like in SMPLive.

Adding on - the entirety of SMPLive is a really good showcase of c!Schlatt being the textbook definition of "he is more scared of you than you are of him". His response to fear is either to look as pathetic as possible in the hopes you feel bad for him and leave, or to try to make himself look scarier and dangerous. That is all he does, all the time. Because the dude is genuinely an idiot and terrified of his own shadow.

Like... He and Connor try to DROWN themselves because they stumble onto a build that is mildly scary if you squint. They become absolutely terrified that Michaelmcchill is Herobrine and will kill/possess/whatever them because he fucking dual wields swords and they're too stupid to know that's a thing that you can do. They react by trying to literally burn him while freaking out about it.

He will combat log and run away from fights and cry and bitch for 15 minutes in the hopes that you get so annoyed with him that you go away.

Schlatt's entire character is motivated by fear. That's his thing.
