* 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄.

ACT  1

SIDE  MISSION:  come  as  you  are.

prior  to  the  konpeki  plaza  heist,  v  will  receive  a  text  from  jackie  concerning  a  family  friend  in  need  of  a  helping  hand.  little  does  he  mention  that  said  family  friend  is  the  legendary  love  bot  of  night  city  -  if  accepted,  v  will  meet  jackie  and  eliza  at  misty's  esoterica.  eliza  has  sustained  minor  bruises  and  cuts  on  her  face  and  is  visibly  shaken,  consoled  by  a  concerned  misty.  she  remains  relatively  quiet  while  jackie  explains  that  he  and  v  will  go  on  a  revenge  mission  against  eliza's  producer  (zach  walsh)  to  discourage  him  from  ever  getting  physical  with  eliza  again.  eliza  admonishes  the  idea  and  insists  that  nothing  is  wrong  and  /  or  she’s  more  than  capable  of  handling  this  herself,  but  jackie  is  insistent.  eventually,  eliza  tells  both  jackie  and  v  to  'be  safe'  as  they  head  out  on  their  merry,  violent  way.

jackie  will  offer  v  some  casual  insight  into  his  relationship  with  eliza:  a  longtime  friendship  with  her  cousin,  danny,  and  the  whole  bellucci  clan  -  danny  enlisted  jackie’s  help  in  making  sure  that  eliza  doesn’t  get  into  too  much  trouble  in  night  city.  the  pair  will  venture  into  japantown  to  rough  up  zach  at  his  apartment  -  upon  entering  the  apartment,  jackie  and  v  will  mow  down  some  tyger  claws  associates  of  zach’s  before  reaching  the  producer,  threatening  his  livelihood  if  he  dares  to  hurt  his  'greatest  asset'  ever  again.

varying  degrees  of  verbal  and  physical  assault  are  permitted  through  this  interaction  -  if  v  kills  zach,  eliza  will  be  unhappy  with  them  upon  their  return,  but  ultimately  this  does  not  change  the  further  story  in  any  capacity.  (universal  chalks  up  zach's  death  to  his  involvement  with  the  tyger  claws  and  hires  a  new  shithead  producer.)

some  time  after  this  mission,  danny  reaches  out  to  v  to  thank  them  for  helping  to  protect  eliza.  he  makes  it  clear  that  the  bellucci  clan  will  always  have  v’s  back  should  they  ever  need  anything  -  this  can  come  up  in  most  potential  interactions  with  the  aldecaldos,  as  they  are  close  allies  with  the  bellucci  clan.

ACT  2

GIG:  catch  me  if  you  can.

damian  lamb  (the  love  bot's  executive  manager)  will  offer  v  a  wildly  large  sum  of  money  to  drag  the  love  bot  out  of  a  well-earned  sabbatical  in  the  badlands.  he  needs  her  back  in  town  for  a  contractual  obligation;  some  undisclosed,  important  and  dire-sounding  public  appearance  -  if  not  sober,  at  least  present  and  functional.

should  you  accept  the  gig  outright,  you  will  find  a  disheveled,  everyday-presenting  love  bot  -  the  human  behind  the  persona,  eliza  kardel  -  resting  and  recuperating  with  her  family  in  the  badlands.  what  damian  doesn't  let  slip  is  that  she's  taking  a  leave  of  absence  from  fame  because  of  an  'accidental'  overdose  (it’s  left  up  to  the  player  to  infer  whether  or  not  it  was  an  intentional  suicide  attempt).  eliza  will  reveal  that  damian  (and  the  rest  of  her  team)  have  been  fueling  her  substance  addiction  for  years,  and  she  needs  this  time  away  if  she  ever  hopes  to  reach  some  level  of  sobriety  or  self  control.  at  this  time,  v  is  offered  the  decision  to  let  eliza  stay  in  the  badlands  with  her  nomad  family,  or  drag  her  back  to  night  city  against  her  will.

complete  this  gig  by  cruelly  dragging  eliza  back  to  night  city  and  become  locked  out  of  any  more  missions  related  to  the  love  bot  for  the  remainder  of  the  game.  upon  seeing  that  v  accepted  a  gig  from  universal  that  contributes  to  her  demise,  she'll  curse  them  as  'just  another  heartless  merc'.  at  the  end  of  act  3,  v  can  overhear  a  news  broadcast  announcing  the  love  bot's  survival  of  a  'freak  accident'  at  one  of  her  shows.  her  mind  and  body  are  no  longer  one,  and  she's  more  chrome  than  heart  -  arguably,  there's  nothing  left  of  the  real  eliza  kardel  at  all.

fail  this  gig  by  refusing  to  bring  eliza  back  to  night  city  and  v's  connection  to  the  love  bot  will  endure  throughout  the  remainder  of  the  game.  v  will  receive  texts  from  eliza  asking  them  to  ferry  her  to  underground  acoustic  gigs,  inviting  them  to  ep  listening  parties,  stargazing  in  the  badlands  and  more.

SIDE  MISSION:  teach  me  to  fight.

at  her  request,  meet  the  love  bot  at  the  silver  pixel  cloud  for  target  practice.  teach  her  some  self-defense,  shoot  some  empty  bottles  and  get  to  know  one  another.  this  is  where  v  receives  the  choice  to  romance  eliza  -  accept  her  advance  to  kiss  v  and  she'll  escort  them  back  to  her  north  oak  mansion  for  a  night  of  bow  chicka  wow  wow,  or  reject  her  and  she'll  take  it  with  a  sad  smile,  commenting  on  how  v  would  'probably  be  worse  off  if  they  were  to  get  involved  with  her,  anyways'.  even  if  she  is  rejected,  the  cordial  friendship  perseveres.

ACT  3

GIG:  making  the  bed.

help  the  love  bot  overthrow  universal  studios.  after  sneaking  suspicions  that  her  team  is  set  to  be  even  more  despicable  than  usual,  the  love  bot  recruits  v  to  unearth  their  budding  plot  to  rob  her  of  all  autonomy.

prior  to  one  of  eliza's  biggest  shows  to  date,  she  recruits  v  to  sneak  into  universal  records  headquarters  and  gleam  as  much  top-secret  information  as  possible  from  president  susan  browning's  personal  computer.  eliza  knows  that  something  is  brewing,  but  exactly  what?  she's  not  sure.

if  v  rejects  the  gig,  eliza's  will  be  nearly  killed  the  plotted  'accident'  and  become  the  real-life  love  bot,  more  cyberware  than  human.

if  v  takes  the  gig,  they'll  find  the  plot  to  maim  the  love  bot  in  susan's  personal  files  -  susan  will  catch  v  in  the  act  and  approach  them  with  a  proposition.  endless  eddies  to  keep  this  secret,  or  die  there  and  then.  v  can  either  take  the  eddies  and  seal  eliza's  cruel  fate,  or  kill  susan  and  every  remaining  member  of  the  love  bot's  team  on  their  way  out  of  the  building.
