A small detail I appreciate about Worm is that Annette died because she was texting and driving. Obviously it serves a clear purpose in justifying Taylor's lack of cell phone, but a more cowardly story would have had Annette die because someone else was texting and driving; or it would have ignored that entirely, found a different reason Taylor doesn't have a cell phone, and have Annette be killed by a drunk driver like the other 99% of sad dead parents in stories.
