Back in Argus when Team RWBY reveals what Jinn has told them, Jaune gets Mad at Ozcar for putting his girlfriend in danger. Would Pyrrha try to restrain Jaune and put him at ease?
“How can we even trust that this is the real Oscar? It could be Ozpin!” Jaune growled, holding the boy up against the wall by his collar.
“Jaune!” Yang cried, Weiss stuttering over unsure words. Ruby was equally shocked at the commotion, and Blake didn’t know who to side with.
Jaune snapped out of his fiery stare, head whipping around with everyone else to Pyrrha, stood in the middle of the room, a snarl on her lip and furious green eyes scorching him.
Jaune swallowed thickly, guilt settling icily in his gut and burning hot in his cheeks. His hands pried away from Oscar’s collar, dropping him back to the floor. Panting and shaken, Oscar carefully filed around Jaune. Pyrrha calmed to a frown, pacing up to Jaune.
“I know what you’re gonna-
“You cannot take out your anger on a boy younger than you, a boy who looks up to you!” Pyrrha snapped. Jaune looked at his shoes like a scolded child. Then Jaune looked up with burning watery eyes.
“Yeah well, Ozpin’s the one who filled your head with nonsense. And he’s the one hiding behind a kid.” Jaune spat back, before turning and storming upstairs. Pyrrha held a hand over her heart, eyes glazed at the spot he once occupied.
The room was awkwardly quiet. Yang gulped thickly, loudly. Pyrrha then scoffed.
“Pyrrha?” Weiss stepped forward, when Pyrrha raised her hand.
“Not. Now.” Pyrrha said lowly, before huffing and ascending the staircase briskly.
“Are they gonna be okay?” Blake asked for everyone else. Nora scoffed, hands slapping her thighs.
“I dunno!” She stomped off passed the hole in the wall Jaune had made, and climbed the stairs. Ren uncrossed his arms.
“I think we need some time alone. As a team.” He shook his head tiredly, following Nora upstairs, leaving a very awkward team RWBY with Oscar.
Jaune went to slam the door behind him, but Pyrrha’s hand caught the swinging door, stopping it. She filed in, watching him bury his hands in his hair and pace. She stepped over, taking his wrist and tugging him around to face her. Their eyes met, and he looked away.
“Not to me.” Pyrrha shook her head. “To Oscar.”
“And I made my own choices at Beacon. Mine. In fact, they barely told me anything. Classified they told me. I made the choice to take on the maiden role, they didn’t force me.”
Jaune pulled his arm free of her. “Whatever you say.” He scoffed, sitting on the bed with a huff. Pyrrha turned to Nora and Ren as they stepped in the room, smiling softly at them.
“I think we could do with some fresh air. Out of this stuffy house, just us four. We have a lot to discuss.” Pyrrha sighed tiredly.
“Apparently so.” Ren huffed, the team trying to take in the information they’d received.
“And you can apologise to Oscar. He is not Ozpin.” Pyrrha said firmly. Jaune looked up, sighing.
“You’re right. Gods, you’re right...” Once calm, his actions began to sink in. “Oh what’d I do? He’s just a kid.”
“While I appreciate how much you care for me...” Pyrrha sat beside him, taking his hands. “You need to separate the past from the present. Oscar is just a scared and confused boy, and your attacking him for a past he had no part in.”
Jaune whined. “You’re right, you’re so right, oh man. I’m such a dick.” He buried his face in her shoulder. Pyrrha smiled up at Ren and Nora.
“We should go and get coffee.”
Ren chuckled. “And take a loooong walk.”
Nora sighed heavily. “That is the best idea I’ve heard all week.”
