and I think those parents did a serious disservice for raising their child in that environment because the spoiled children became spoiled teenagers, became spoiled young adults who never apologized because they never took responsibility, and who snapped at and coerced their friends into getting their way, and over time we each told them we didnt like the way they treated us, and they yelled at us for saying so, and we eventually left. Theyre not part of the friend groups anymore, groups that have otherwise largely stayed together. And all of us who were driven away by mistreatment feel a little sad to have lost a friend but each independently and gradually decided it was no longer healthy for us. And each of us had noticed at some point how their parents never stood up to them, or if they did, caved to the slightest pushback. You don't spoil a child by being understanding and doing kind things for them. You spoil a child when you fail to teach them how to do the same for others.

and they went through with it! deranged! and you can't even chalk it up to any notable effort to diversify the series or anything; I've checked! this cast is still white as shit! as far as I can tell this is the only Black person employed by the entire wizard school! whole rest of the staff, white as hell. couldn't even pretend they gave enough of a shit to cast any other Black actors or other actors of color. just made the biggest shithead there a Black guy and patted themselves on the backs. truly everything Joanne touches is so seething with bigotry it's unreal.
