the quiet things that no one ever knows

I took an edible last night and ordered this shirt so I guess that’s where my head is at.

We put in a group chipotle order at work and then the doctor realized he chose the wrong location. I tried calling the store but you can’t reach a human anymore - it’s an AI answering service that says to chat on the app for misplaced orders. So my attending is talking to pepper the chat bot when we get called into bed 8 because our patient starts to circle the drain (hypotensive, bradycardic, has a seizure) so I’m in the room holding the emesis bag and ordering meds. I get a little vomit on my hand. She comes around but her potassium comes back 7. Push all the meds. Call ICU. Get the lady upstairs. Meanwhile my attending is like OK NOW WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO PEPPER!!!!

Since I read two John Steinbeck novels I looked him up. And I gotta say, he kinda has some rizz in his late 30s here. 👀

Here are the books I read in May and I found things to like and appreciate in all of them. But I’m going to rant about the only book I did not finish - Pride and Prejudice. It was sooo boring. Good storytelling can make me care about social class and aristocracy (The Crown, Downton Abbey) but it was a chore to read and I gave up at 75%. It was written in 1813 and I think it only still has a hold due to the movie adaptations.

I had a patient who ended up being diagnosed with active tuberculosis after admission so I had to get tested now and again in 8 weeks.
