diy culture has been so bastardised by tumblr punks, why are u tryinb to turn ur mcdonalds uniform into a patch jacket, like if u have the money for good clothes that will last why are you fucking up bad quality clothes that look bad. fashion wise, punk is so much about utility, patching jeans to fix rips, wearing boots for long journeys, patching torn up hats and wearing spikes incase of a fight. punk fashion is utility first, and thats the point. the aesthetic is largely a result of the lifestyle, so if you dont live that life why are you trying to look like you are? its posing, literally posing as someone who lives a different life. get utility out of your clothes by wearing quality items that you like, quit emptying out thrift shops because you think it gives you punk points. be authentic to you and be honest.
