the idea that we are gradually building toward eddie having a slow but explicit feelings realization first fills me with such unbridled glee because it’s such the opposite of buck’s chaotic, denial and sublimation fueled coming-out? just eddie on this slow steady journey towards the event horizon where the accumulation of years of friendship and little intimacies and grand gestures build up until it’s right in front of him and he can’t ignore it anymore. and oh. it’s buck. of course it’s buck. the same buck who saved his son. the same buck that patched his walls. the same buck who gave up his home so eddie could bring his son back to it. eddie knows what it’s like to be hit by a truck now, and it’s not like that. it’s like opening his eyes in the morning daylight and realizing his whole world is right there, just sitting in arm’s reach the entire time
