Boo to you, too

Mr. Lancer gave Danny an F on a test that was worth 25% of his grade. But instead of just letting him go, he forced Danny to stay after class to tell him he has to retake the test. And he tells him, in a sincere and caring voice, “Danny, when a teacher looks at his student, he hopes to see a reflection of his own abilities.” He continues in the same tone of voice, “When I look at you, I see my own F. I don’t like to fail, do you?” I honestly expected a harsher tone for that second part, but the fact that he continues to calmly tell Danny this shows how much he honestly doesn’t like to see Danny fail.

When Mr. Lancer sees Danny throwing away the chance to make up his grade away at the arcade, he drives him home and tells his parents. It’s after school, most teachers I know could care less what their students do outside the classroom. And even if they do lecture their students and tell the parents, I’ve never heard of them driving the student home and telling the parents face to face. How much Mr. Lancer is involved with his students is astounding to me.

So I’ve seen some people redraw the opening stills and have been wanting to do my own version for a while. I didn’t actually start until I decided to make this the worst thing ever.

They didn’t all quite turn out as well as I would’ve liked them to, but regardless of that I laughed way too much as I put this together.
