oooh okay so you know how in the special we kinda saw that J is not in fact very interested in keeping things clean unless theres literally anyone else around? so- Tessa coming to visit J in the pod while she still lives there before getting her own house, and Tessa doesn't really think before slamming the door open. and then. J is incredibly caught off guard. her hair is messy and tangled, her clothes have oil stains on them, she's got the worst fucking posture known to dronekind, and random stuff is strewn around the space haphazardly and the control panel (that at this point is little more than a glorified table) has old oil stains on it too. and J is sitting there staring wide eyed at Tessa, who is glancing around the room confused. and she just goes like "uh... i brought you some oil?" and that snaps J out of her silence and she immediately shoots up from where she was sitting on the floor and starts frantically apologising for the mess and saying she was going to clean up soon but she was just tired and-

so. Tessa is brushing J's hair. she's sitting up on the chair while J is sitting on the floor (best way to deal with height difference in this scenario). now. its really quiet, nobody's talking, and suddenly, J asks Tessa why she's even doing any of this for her.
