intelligent people acknowledge that the concept of continents is useless and stupid. if it was based on landmass every island would be its own continent while europe and asia would be one and the same. it’s not based on tectonic plates either, and why would it be. what plate people live on has no bearing on their lives. it’s not based on culture either cos how does a japanese person have more in common with someone from turkey than with someone from finland. and yet, even tho we all know it’s arbitrary, people still refuse to admit certain countries belong to certain continents. because their feelings tell them otherwise
