He's not wearing sylph shoes?? Normally I'd think the author just skipped drawing the spell cause this is just a small end-of-chapter illustration, but Shirahama always draws them when shoe soles are visible, so why not here?

And then I noticed another thing, at the end of the extra chapter with Alaira and Euini.

All the kids are in the air, except for Loroga!!!

I love the subtext of scene, the fact that technically Coco is last but she's still in the air like the rest of the kids, so Loroga is the one being left behind. Or that Coco has friends to help her move forward while he has no one else with him on the ground.

BUT

What if he just can't fly. What if he's afraid of heights. Easthies thinks he's given this great responsibility to raise a new knight, only to find that there's this "trivial" problem that's actually more important (and harder) to work through.

He probably doesn't take it seriously at first and says that you have to know how to fly if you're a witch and he will get used to it. Then something happens, Eas sees how terrified Loroga is and realizes that it is that much of a problem and it won't just go away with time. Instead of being a cold, strict, pact-focused teacher like everyone expects, he's slapped with feelings of protectiveness and responsibility and has to look up flying exercises for children and do research on overcoming fear.

And carry his apprentice with him when they're flying. That is also very important (I just want more soft Easthies).

ANYWAY then I remembered that scene from vol 6

and realized that oh. They probably just don't use sylph shoes in the Great Hall, cause they don't need them. But I still like the idea so I'm gonna headcanon that until we get more Loroga crumbs, heh.

I see him as reppressed on so many levels that I can't imagine him having kissed anyone or even consciously think of someone romantically/sexually at any point in his life (even Utowin).

But if I HAD to choose someone… Probably Galga? Not like, now, but maybe during training before they were officially knights? They are both very strict when it comes to work and can give off similiar vibe. I can see them being comfortable enough (in theory) around each other for that to happen.
