They're allowed to bring one{1} pokemon, as most witchy families typically don't mind lending if their children haven't bonded with their own yet, and two items {potions, battle items, food, etc}

anyway, long winded introduction to say, it reminds me of Orufrey -> ginkgo are, ironically, symbols of longevity and peace— as well as good health and love. It's also commonly referred to as a 'maidenhair tree'

Coco is a deer-themed witch! it's not suuper obvious- like Eruka or Medusa obvious- because she wasn't raised knowing she was a witch, and therefore was rather seperated from that part of herself..

Qifrey impresses very very firmly- as her teacher- that the students and teachers outside his class [everyone not Olly, Richeh, Agott, or Tetia] cannot know that she is a witch -> However.. he recognizes that being witchy is also integral to her overall development, as it's literally a biological part of her; suppressing it would just lead to a very depressed soul. So, Coco ends being donned in very subtle deer paraphernalia!

it's just enough that it soothes that desire for connection- somewhat- but not quite enough that anybody can tell from a surface level look
