I'm pretty much by default in defense of people who enjoy dark fiction just as a general artistic philosophy and as a political stance, but my god so much of it is such cornball shit. Just so embarrassing to look upon it drives me nuts

I need there to be a thriving diversity of artistic content and thought specifically so we can move beyond facile moral arguments to get to the meat of aesthetic critique and admit that a lot of this shit is just really lame and cringe and bad. And not for its content but in its presentation
