(no rush to write this, and if it’s too similar to what you just wrote feel free to skip this request! thank you! <3)
thank you sm !!!!!!! <3 i was VERY excited to write this
placed under the cut because this got longer than i expected
THE FIRST NIGHT:
saeran couldn’t move. his limbs felt like lead and his mind was splintering and he was shaking like a leaf. his body was a livewire, and every beat of his heart sent a wave of shock coursing all throughout him. it was pure, unbridled white-hot pain. if there was anyone in the room with him, saeran couldn't feel them. if anyone was trying to speak to him, saeran couldn't hear them. all saeran could hear were the voices of his personas arguing back and forth, each one fighting for control. all saeran could feel was the complete agony that he was in-- and he could only blame himself for that. maybe if he were better, if he were stronger, if he weren't so disposable, things would be different. or...or maybe if he wasn't so gullible, if he didn't trust the first two people that showed him kindness, if he just...just wasn't born at all. saeran was sure that he was screaming out in agony-- though he couldn't hear it, the way his throat scratched when he swallowed was a good enough indicator. if mint eye was paradise, then this surely was hell.
however, by some miracle, saeran survived the night. he honestly did not think he would- the pain was excruciating and saeran was begging a god he no longer believed in to just let him die already. surely, hell could not be worse than what he had been experiencing all night. slowly, the pain ebbed away until it was a low, pulsating thrum. his vision returned to him and the first thing he saw was her, with her head bowed to her hands and mouth moving impossibly fast. behind her was saeyoung, with tear-stained cheeks and red eyes....and saeran hated it. hated him for being there, for seeing saeran at his worst. (this wasn't his worst, not really. his absolute worst was when rika forced him into mint eye, when saeran was forced to take the elixir. was forced to hate his own flesh and blood because he was too weak.) slowly, saeran's hearing returned to him, and he could hear the last remnants of a prayer fall from her lips. saeran didn't believe in any god, but he'd say as many hail mary's as it took to remove the devastated look from her face. he'd fall to his knees in the confession box, would beg forgiveness if it meant she wouldn't look so broken.
her name fell from his lips as if it were his own broken prayer, and her head snapped up at the sound of his voice. "oh my god, you're still here." her voice cracked as she leaned forward. her embrace was as gentle as could be, and saeran had to force himself to not fall apart yet. saeyoung was still in the room, and saeran would not allow himself to cry in front of his brother. that was one weakness he wouldn't show him. "so are you." he responded, voice just above a whisper. speaking felt like someone was actively taking sandpaper and harshly rubbing it against his throat, and he winced at the pain. she must've felt it, because she pulled away and reached for the glass of water at his bedside. "of course i am. saeyoung and i both didn't leave your side once." the mention of his twin had saeran's eyes narrowing at his brother. "can you...tell him to leave, please?" she hesitated for a moment, looking back at saeyoung before looking at him. "he's-- darling, he's really worried about you--" "please." he cut her off, begging. his mind was reeling and splitting and saeran could not be around his brother, not right then. there was a part of him that knew rika lied about his brother, that knew he was brainwashed and forced to believe in her sick lies, but it would take a lot longer than one night for saeran to move past all that. all the trauma and the dark thoughts and the "my brother abandoned me, he doesn't love me, he hates me he hates me he hates me." mantra that was, quite literally, beat into him. (and more than that, there was the, "killsaeyoungkillsaerankillsaeyoungkillsaeran" mantra that he stuck to for months. hurting his brother became his only life goal, and that wasn't something that he could move on from so easily.)

Write your book STEP BY STEP
hello hello, it's me again!
today i'm bringing you a step-by-step / checklist to finally get your book done. i know it can be a bit complicated to put everything together to make your idea come to life (you're definitely not alone!)
that's why i compiled some tips and made this post, in hopes to help some author out there :D
let's get started.
PREMISE
assuming you already have a good idea in mind, you should start by writing a premise. to help you with that, try to answer these questions:
who is the main character?
what are their goals?
which troubles will they face / what's stopping them from achieving their goals?
do they have an opponent? if so, who?
now that you know the answers to these questions, it's time to write the premise. the premise consists in a sentence that summarizes your whole idea.
PLOT OUTLINE
there are infinite ways to plot your story. you can do it by writing down ideas and linking them together, following a scheme, or any other method.
the most common plot outlines are these:
synopsis outline: one to two pages, where you hit all the major beats of the story
in-depth outline: outline each chapter/scene
snowflake method: develop the premise into a bigger paragraph, and that paragraph into a page (etc.) until you have the whole outline of your story
booken method: plot the start and end of the story, and the main characters
the novel factory created plot sheets for free, and you can choose from eight different templates. you might want to check it out!
KNOW YOUR CHARACTERS
having your outline defined, you should start developing your characters now. the main character's profile might be more detailed than the others, however, it's up to you. there are many character sheets out there on the internet that will help you create flawless characters.
i have a post with resources that might be helpful when creating a character, check it out!
and here you have some prompts and sheets to create a character:
Quick Character Creator - EA Deverell
Extremely detailed character sheet template - @hawkasss
The Best Character Template Ever - Dabble
Character Twenty Questions Worksheet - The Writers Circle
at this point, you should also define the narrator's voice, tone, etc, as well as the pace of your novel.
LOCATIONS
define the principal locations of your story, the settings, and where the story is taking place. it's important to know how the environment looks, and how your characters feel about it.
for this part, you might find it useful to do some research about some locations, if you're not familiar with them. find inspiration on Pinterest, Tumblr, or even on books, paintings, and art. everything is valid.
if your story takes place in a fantasy environment, you might need to fill out a template to create it or write down the way you imagine it to be. try to get as many details as possible, so there are no holes when developing the novel.
SUBPLOTS
you might want to give more depth to your novel by developing a subplot (or more than one). make sure it doesn't get too confusing or that doesn't take the focus away from the main action.
the subplot can be a romance, another character's relationship, a character's arc, a backstory, etc. this will make your story more real and 3D, more realistic.
develop it as a side story and mix it with the principal plot but don't make it as important as the main story, otherwise, none of the plots will make an impact.
SYNOPSIS
write a synopsis as long as you wish, covering every important part of the story. this will help you to really know your idea, and have a solid structure for it. it can range from 500 to 2,500 words, but you don't have to restrict yourself to a number.
things the synopsis should cover:
the status quo
the complication
initial challenges
midpoint
further challenges
the low point
the climax
the resolution
DRAFT
and we get to the best part which is writing! now that you know everything about your story, characters, locations, and scenes, all you have to do is to put all that together in words. don't feel pressured to make everything look perfect already, just write what comes to your mind. if you have a new idea for the plot, good, write it down! if this character doesn't make sense anymore, okay, get rid of them. just go with the flow, following the structure you've planned, and everything starts to come to life.
i know it's so tempting to go back, read what you wrote, and start editing and polishing, but trust me, don't do that! it's a waste of time, and you will take so much more time to finish your first draft. in fact, i've given up on so many stories because of that...
just when you finish the first draft, you will re-read everything and start editing, fixing plot holes, changing what doesn't fit well, etc. but for now, just write, get the first draft done. enjoy the process, don't rush.
thanks for reading!
i hope this post was helpful!

Low level/continuous pain tips for writing
Want to avoid the action movie effect and make your character's injuries have realistic lasting impacts? Have a sick character you're using as hurt/comfort fodder? Everyone has tips for how to write Dramatic Intense Agony, but the smaller human details of lasting or low-level discomfort are rarely written in. Here are a few pain mannerisms I like to use as reference:
General
Continuously gritted teeth (may cause headaches or additional jaw pain over time)
Irritability, increased sensitivity to lights, sounds, etc
Repetitive movements (fidgeting, unable to sit still, slight rocking or other habitual movement to self-soothe)
Soft groaning or whimpering, when pain increases or when others aren't around
Heavier breathing, panting, may be deeper or shallower than normal
Moving less quickly, resistant to unnecessary movement
Itching in the case of healing wounds
Subconsciously hunching around the pain (eg. slumped shoulders or bad posture for gut pain)
Using a hand to steady themself when walking past walls, counters, etc (also applies to illness)
Narration-wise: may not notice the pain was there until it's gone because they got so used to it, or may not realize how bad it was until it gets better
May stop mentioning it outright to other people unless they specifically ask or the pain increases
Limb pain
Subtly leaning on surfaces whenever possible to take weight off foot/leg pain
Rubbing sore spots while thinking or resting
Wincing and switching to using other limb frequently (new/forgettable pain) or developed habit of using non dominant limb for tasks (constant/long term pain)
Propping leg up when sitting to reduce inflammation
Holding arm closer to body/moving it less
Moving differently to avoid bending joints (eg. bending at the waist instead of the knees to pick something up)
Nausea/fever/non-pain discomfort
Many of the same things as above (groaning, leaning, differences in movement)
May avoid sudden movements or turning head for nausea
Urge to press up against cold surfaces for fever
Glazed eyes, fixed stare, may take longer to process words or get their attention
Shivering, shaking, loss of fine motor control
If you have any more details that you personally use to bring characters to life in these situations, I'd love to hear them! I'm always looking for ways to make my guys suffer more write people with more realism :)
It's super messy but I drew Lamia again!! <3
