i wish i knew how to let people in

saw evanescence for the 3rd time live last night & it's just one of those bands, y'know. i grew up with them, following their growth from when i found their stuff online at 12 right before they became what they are today & the front woman amy lee had a couple of little speeches last night, but the one she said right before playing the classic My Immortal, she was reflecting on the age of the song, what it meant at the time, who she was/who we were as fans, basically all the lives lived between then and now and that shit hit. definitely quietly cried to myself during that speech/song. the amount that that singular band has seen me through is somethin' else.
