it's some sort of damage control to say they're over it, that there's no hard feelings. in some ways she even gets it! it was a fun few months, they got betrayed, and the wheel goes round and round. if they were in aurelia's position, in a world where they had ambition and power, they'd have done the same! so. it's literally fine.

and despite the dubiousness of that relationship and the knowledge that she was being Used and Toyed with, ix doesn't think she;s a victim. a victim is something else, something worse, someone who could not have done anything to save themself. but ix could've walked away at any point! she didn't though, she stayed to finish the job because she's a Professional! their situation simply did not have the Gravity to make them a victim, and she knows this because she's made victims of other people before. if ix was a victim they'd be dead.

it's fine to never tell your daughter or any of your family members you survived the joining. they're better off believing you're dead, because you are essentially dead in all the ways that matter. it's actually really healthy and emotionally aware to do that, and then to never talk about your family or your personal history to your new warden colleagues. they don't need to know your husband died in the darkspawn raid that afflicted you with the taint, leading to you being conscripted and leaving the clan you were literally keeper of. dead women don't have to worry about all that extremely cynical about the wardens as an organization and not enthusiastic about roping a bunch of young people with no good options into her death cult. vigil's keep does not survive but she has fun playing catch with velanna in the ruins, until she shows back up in her niecephew's life to immediately die in the fade in front of them

a planetary governor's bastard, raised as her legitimate half-sister thaïs' servant and shadow. when thaïs proved an unstable and despotic ruler, ismene conspired to assassinate her and take her place. condemned to a hell of trying to live as a better version of her sister while wracked with guilt over her death, thaismene couldn't enjoy her own success as governor, and leapt at the opportunity to escape the sector. surely there's no way a freak accident could result in her having to grapple with a position of even more obscene power built on the suffering of others endlessly guilty and terrified of moral responsibility, but she's literally nice and iconoclastmaxxing all the time. and if she doesn't like someone she will do whatever she needs to do to benevolently manipulate them into becoming someone nicer who she does like, because she's so kind and has a powerful forcefem aura. and if that doesn't work maybe they're a bad person who deserves to suffer?

History will vindicate me. irving's star pupil, for better or worse. ratted out jowan in the prologue and then learned blood magic from him in redcliffe after sacrificing isolde. presents a polite and charming front and pursues nonviolent solutions whenever possible, while constantly playing a mental game of hypervigilance 5d chess. earnestly believes that if she were benevolent dictator of the whole world, thedas would have no problems ever again. wants to believe it's possible to earn that kind of power. too proud to learn how to heal in the circle, but willing to do whatever it takes as a warden to serve the greater good and protect the people he loves, even if alistair might resent him forever for conscripting loghain and pushing him into a political marriage with anora. taking political hostages is fineee not harming them is literally the whole point
