Unite The World, Reclaim The 'Worthless'!

I am once again on the hunt to seek out something to hold our water in, for both inside and out. This year’s trash can collapsed over on its own weight right after I’d filled it to the top. It’s becoming more and more important to me that I conserve water for drinking from here on out sense globally we are going into a water deficit.

Don’t get mad at me, but I did get an Amazon account. Now, this account will not be used for dumb purposes. I intend on using this service as a means to get items that I could not previously get for what ever reason. Sometimes, the stores around you will not have whatever you need. I think for me, this is a measure of adaptability that I have to embrace. Please, put your pitch forks and torches away.

We have gone to years without any issues. However, one of the corporate people, the listing agent, has decided to show up to where we live. She is telling people what not to have on the patios, and what not to have outside. I’ve heard from my spouse that she went to a neighbor and asked him not to have certain things outside. For me, this means it is a sign that I will have to keep the collecting more discrete than before. Another resident that has lived here for a very long time has said that she comes out periodically and polices the residential population. Fine. That just means that I will have to get more creative in what I can get away with.  I have lived in the suburbs nearly my entire life, and know what these types of people will tolerate, and what they like to see. 

This year’s adaptation: no more tarp set up & different storage method. I will be switching to a collapsible ‘funnel’ to avoid the leasing people from coming around. 

This? This will pass as acceptable to city suburban people. Suburban people do not like to see something that is obviously for self sustainability.  A lots of city suburban people hate the concept of self sustainability. If I can disguise water collection as a plastic planter, then there will be limited comments. If the people in charge where to see a barrel or barrel type planter, they would throw a fit. All I would have to do is place some fake plants into the collection table as a disguise.

FIXED: sleeves and pockets.

As much as I’d like for this jacket to have been a few hairs longer, I don’t have the zipper or sewing material for that. I’m not sure what goes through a designer’s head when they incision an XL clothing item, but the sleeves just were not that. I’ve added over 3 inches to each sleeve and took the time to painstakingly hand sew with embroidery thread to keep with the aesthetic of the ‘external’ seams. I took off the pockets and extended them so they could actually hold a phone or a bag of chips or whatever real XL humans put in their pockets.

This design is simple and has multiple use styles. It doesn’t need to be ‘stylish’ sense it’s holding body wash.

I would do the tension rod hack but we just don’t have that much room for it. The built in wash cloth rack is what I’m going to be using sense it’s already holding the main body wash and shampoo. It’s in arms reach. My solution is to take a smaller basket or bucket type holder and tie it to the holder.

I noticed that the bottom looked like it was holding into a little bit of water after cleaning it and shaking it out. I don’t remember how I remembered this, but at some point I’d ‘discovered’ that when materials that aren’t supposed To Look Like That Look Like That, it means the non stick material is coming off and holding onto the water. I scraped my finger nail across this “feathery” surface and every time I did there was black stuff coming off and getting under my nail.
