Priestess of Bast

Altar Etiquette:

Bast prefers an altar that is clean and organized. Statues or pictures can be included. 

To awaken her, pour boiling water over her stone statue. DO NOT attempt this if the statue is made of any other material. Rather evoke her presence or consecrate the statue with her blessings and energy.

Bast the mother goddess loves and accepts you.

May Bastet calm, protect and guide you. 

If you are a parent and you see your child wanting to be involved in the worship of Bast- this is the list for you! Feel free to add anymore ideas! :)

-Have your child do art projects for Bast (like paintings, crayon art, clay or even paint some rocks).

-If your child is nervous or concerned about something have them write Bastet a letter (spelling errors does not matter).

-If you have a feline, have your child give them a treat as their offering to Bast (make sure the cat treats are healthy).

-Play some music and let your child dance (after all Bastet was the goddess of dance).

-Bake/cook a meal and have your child help and use it as an offering for Bast (fish, poultry and beef or onion dishes are a good start).

-If you have a local feral cat colony let your child help you feed them.

-If you have a sistrum teach your child how to play it for Bast.

-Let them help you rearrange or assemble a Bastet altar.

-Foster a cat or kittens, learn your child how fostering helps out the homeless cats to find a forever home!

If parents can involve kids in church activities- us pagans can teach our children about the old gods/goddess’ 

May luck, lust and prosperity come your way. 

If someone has cheated on you, replaced you, ghosted you- Bastet is the goddess to contact. Tell her everything that has happened. She will listen to you. 

She will heal your broken heart and open your road. May she bless you with love and heal a broken relationship. 

Bastet loves you. 

She is the nurturing mother you need. She is the purring therapy that calms you. She is our mother, friend and teacher. Above all she is our goddess.

Mother Mary is definitely a crazy cat lady.

Bastet as a Holy Saint. Maybe she’s the Saint of Cat Napping???

I thought I would mention this on my Tumblr blog.

A close friend asked me, “Do I need a pet cat to worship Bast?”

This is a question that everyone will answer differently. I have been worshipping/working (with) Bastet and been an active goddess priestess for years. I think that having a pet cat is not required at all. There is many reasons one cannot have a cat allergies, animals prohibited where you live etc. Bastet isn’t going to ignore you or not call you just because of things we cannot control.

If you can’t live with a cat-

Volunteer at cat shelters, rescues etc.

Donate cat litter, food etc. to shelters

Befriend a local cat colony

Feed your neighborhood feral/strays

Bastet wants us to honor and respect cats. Just donating cat beds to a rescue. Or making a cat house for your local strays in the winter, Bast appreciates. Bastet is a goddess that is not only nurturing but understanding. 

If you want to honor the Goddess Bast(et) carry some dry cat food [in a Ziploc bag] in your purse, car, pocket etc.

So when you see a stray/feral cat you can feed it!

Bastet prefers you to help her children rather than buying her a $60 statue. ;)

This is one of my favorite oils to make. Therefore I thought I would share my recipe with my friends on my blog. 😊I recommend you make this oil on a Friday the 13th! 

It makes it more powerful but if quick results are needed it can be made anytime!

Ingredients:

Sage

Bay Leaves

Iron

Myrrh

Catnip

Grains of Paradise

Lodestone

Dragon's Blood

Black Cat Hair (PLEASE get the hair from the your cat's brush)

Grape seed or Almond Oil for the carrier oil

Put all your dry ingredients in a bottle then add your carrier oil. *If you want your oil to be black you can put charcoal powder or candle dye in it*

If you have recently gotten a new cat/kitten or are comfortable with spell casting- here is an easy spell.

Take the new collar (or your cat’s worn collar) and smoke cleanse it. (You can use incense stickers or loose incense)

If you have a statue of bast put the collar around her statue. (If you do not have a statue you may place the collar on your working altar)

Light a tea-light candle and chant the following-

Bast,

daughter of Ra,

Protect this feline, 

[say your cat’s name],

from harm,

so mote it be✨

After the tea-light is finishes burning, take the collar and hold it to your chest. While holding the collar, think happy thoughts and repeal any negativity with positive intentions.
