I'm surprised how good the NBC Hannibal show is. Mentally i'd filed it away in the superwholock cabinet but it's closer in tone to House M.D. It is pure baroque camp, played entirely straight.

NBC Hannibal is like if Hideo Kojima wrote a police procedural about vampires.

The lynchpin of this entire show is Lawrence Fishberne's performance as Jack Crawford. He is the Kim Kitsuragi. His job in the narrative is to go "Okay. You are saying that Hannibal Lecter is pretending to be several different serial killers at once, for fun, and part of his plan was to reprogram your brain by intentionally giving you bacterial encephalitis? Well. If that is true, what is the logical next step here?"
