robin, shock of all shockers, misses steve harrington. that guy? that guy's cool. unexpectedly so. he would be a joy to work the closing shift with tonight. he is the complete opposite of van and her constant fucking commenting. nagging. robin hasn't ever met a woman who nags before van. "i'm getting real tired of listening to you today, okay? how about you take a chill pill, alright? can you manage that?"

"jesus, you're shrill today." van leaves her organizing to go to the counter, purloining a lollipop from the front almost entirely for the pleasure of pissing robin off. she makes a mocking salute with lollipop in hand. "whatever you say, boss. your wish is my command, et cetera."

“for your head,” she says instead of a greeting, nodding awkwardly for him to take the bag under her arm. the cold is seeping through her thin shirt, and the slightly thicker shredded half-shirt on top of it. she’s likely goosepimpling. “you could probably sue. unsafe dining conditions.”

he catches the hint to grab the bag of peas before eddie catches on to the point of them. "oh." eddie had already forgotten about the little collision. the thoughtfulness makes him blush a little, high in his cheeks, his eyebrows screwing up. "thanks." eddie says, slow and overly cautious. "i- um. would hate sully this fine dining establishment by bringing the lawman into it, y'know?" he brings the bag up to his head, the wet peas pressed over his bangs. eddie feels stupid. he makes a face, squints over at blue. "and you come bearing provisions. what service."

she hands eddie his pizza. deadpans, “it’s my life’s passion.” like it’s a test, she wants to see how he’ll respond. blue sits cross-legged on the curb and begins painstakingly picking the cheese off her pizza to eat it first.
