while i was trawling pinterest for my board i came across this object. i feel like alcina would have a version of this, but one that has a cadou in it instead. the cadou, surgically implanted into her body and wrapping its tendrils around her liver, ovaries, and endochrine system. in my interpretation, alcina deliriously awoke after the surgery and the cadou was swollen against her stomach, and for a moment she believed she was made pregnant by some miracle. in her canon, i believe alcina wanted to be a mother and give birth to heirs, and was raised to want this. throughout her life, she suffered a series of miscarriages. miranda could make her a mother, could fix her illness, could help her navigate trauma and grief. this, of course, later became the things that would enmesh alcina to the village: her fundamentally physically broken children, her body and need for blood, and her emotional stagnation.
