Augh got inspired by those edits on pinterest so I made one for the iliad instead of doing homework or going to bed because I have my priorities straight (see the odyssey version here!)
Aphrodite vs stuff Hera actually said to her before asking a favour (aka my one sided Aphrodite x Hera propaganda)
could we have achilles sparkeling like a twilight vampire?
I made it gay sparkles for pride month

"CYPRIA 7: ODYSSES OUTWITS ACHILLES"
Haunted by a prophecy that her son will die young at war, the sea-nymph Thetis disguises Achilles as a maiden named Pyrrha and hides him on the remote island of Skyros, where the lonely warrior bonds with the princess Deidameia, secretly marrying her and fathering a son. Back on the mainland, the seer Calchas divines through bird signs and entrails that Troy cannot fall without Achilles, and that he is hidden on Skyros. Odysseus sails to the island disguised as a merchant, laying out jewelry and weapons before the princesses, then signals a war trumpet to be blown, and Achilles alone reaches for the sword, tearing off his veil and revealing himself, for he was not made to live passively in secret among princesses. He embraces Deidameia one final time, promising not to forget their son, but they both know what the prophecy means, and he sets sail for Aulis, his heart lifting toward the horizon and the war to come.

The Trojan War Cycle brings together The Iliad, The Odyssey, and surviving poem fragments of the Epic Cycle: The Cypria, Aethiopis, Little Iliad, Iliou Persis, Nostoi, and Telegony, to reconstruct the full myth in sweeping, chronological order. Sleepy creature
Thinking about Fray Bigotón (brother moustache), mascot of the Franciscan Monastery of Cochabamba in Bolivia who was adopted after being found as a stray
Okay but what if the reason Laertes moved to the tiny cottage is because:
1. He didn't want to watch the sea that claimed his son
2. It was becoming too painful for him to wake up and see his precious boy only to then be snapped into reality by the fact that it isn't his son but grandson. He loves Telemachus but his fragile mind can't handle reopening these wounds.
oooOOH you’re also invited to my angst themed birthday party. I imagine Laertes’ grief is compounded after Anticlea’s death

Agave hey listen you should have listened to your sister
Agave? Oh too late
Themis, goddess of law
Quintus Smyrnaeus, Fall of Troy 13. 298 ff :
"Ay, wicked men never elude pure Themis (Divine Law) : night and day her eyes are on them, and the wide world through above the tribes of men she floats in air, holpen of Zeus, for punishment of sin."
Based on Portrait of a Roman Lady Frederic Leighton
Tried to make a somewhat accurate bronze age Dionysus statue 🥲✌️
Anyway Pentheus finally meeting the deity cousin he loathed so much (but also wasn't aware it was him)
has “killing a god makes you take up their mantle” ever been done in the pjo fandom? as in Percy accidentally kills Ares on that beach and becomes the god of war at 12? or Percy accidentally killing Hades and becoming the god of the underworld at 16? or Percy finishing off Kronos himself and becoming the god of time at 16? or Percy going too far and killing Achlys and becoming the god of poison at 16?
Percy, age 15, trying desperately to protect Nico from being the child of the prophecy, not knowing that it’s a pointless battle because he became the god of war at twelve and no one ever told him. the prophecy clearly speaks of a half-blood, and Nico is the only mortal one left
but also the tragedy of the god of war being a twelve years old who’s unaware he lost his humanity at all??
Percy only truly realizes what he has become during the Titan’s war because he feels weirdly powerful all of the sudden and he feels so guilty he has a breakdown about it
What if... Percy didn't kill Ares, but when he defeated the god, he accidentally took a sub-domain? Let's say... battlefields.
Okay, this is going to sound very silly coming from me because I haven't read PJO in ages and I don't interact with the fandom on here much at all, but I've had an adjacent thought about this for the longest time.
So! My thought is that Percy is/would have been the god of environmentalism.
'Textual' evidence:
Percy (among others) was present when Pan died and spread out his essence. Part of the message behind Pan's death was that people (humans) have to take stewardship of nature, which is also the idea behind environmentalism.
Many of Percy's side tasks seemed to involve pollution or cleaning up pollution in some way. Admittedly, this could also point towards Grover's general character arc, but there are other incidents that only involve Percy.
Smelly Gabe is essentially described as the human embodiment of pollution.
Cleaning the stables.
The sand dollar side plot stuff.
One of his greatest failures (Bianca) taking place in a junkyard.
Being able to control poison (a form of pollution) in the encounter with Akhlys.
Gaea wanting his blood specifically for her awakening.
Phorcys (I think it was Phorcys but I'm bad with names, sorry if it isn't) wanting to keep Percy specifically in his aquarium.
Plus, environmentalism is a relatively new concept.

Athena is the goddess of wisdom and tries to stay out of these childish games but U GOTTA ADMIT she’s little bit smug about it.
