That heavily made up woman who had to drop a vendor because they were treating her like an object and accidentally showed this to her via a screenshot which is sexual harassment says in the follow up that she didn't want to name said vendor because she hoped that there would be mutual respect between them. Are these women batshit? She does go on to say that these men behave that way towards her because they didn't have sisters and daughters.... How does she think male dominance existed for the past couple thousand years? Did the males believe it unjust to create a society under which it was basically prohibited that women have freedom of movement, freedom to exist independently without male imposed constraint? In parts of the world where women lack rights that's not because they want it to be that way. Those norms do not benefit them. The struggle to change society, to make it more progressive was rough. And we are still not done.

my favorite type of post right now is people talking about purity culture but their idea of purity culture is like "someone who isnt okay with every fetish/kink" so instead of discussing the actual impact of purity culture you just get a bunch of people screaming facist because you said you dont think someone who indulges in pedophilic fantasies should be a middle school math teacher.

my favorite part about this post is how many people read it and disregarded the part about how derailed conversations about purity culture are from the impacts of purity culture to instead decide that i want laws to allow absolute government surveillance in peoples bedrooms.

oh so men beat and kill people but women are mean sometimes? maybe even behind your back? wow and that’s so subtle and insidious. and moreover, people seem to think that’s not as serious as beating and killing people. which, if you think about it, kind of makes it even WORSE. this will blow your mind since everyone has always believed women are moral angels, but sometimes they’re wicked nasty bitches. worse than men actually if you think about it.

like. “if we count verbal/relational aggression as violence, women are as aggressive as men” and if we count mice as kia sorentos then a man will see a car and eat it. if we count ocean water as drinkable and rocks as food then no one should be going hungry or thirsty. like you’re not disproving something you’re changing the terms.

like i can’t even come up with funny comparisons. yeah if we count murder and spreading rumors in the same category of aggression we can erase the reality of gendered violence. if i count rejection and sexual harassment in the same category of facilitating an environment of sexual dissatisfaction then it’s a zero sum game and we’re all the same. do you see how this works?
