I don’t know what kind of posts you’ve been reading, but we still stan Alicent for her propriety because she never lost it.

On the other hand, it would actually be so much easier for you if you owned up to Rhaenyra’s obvious promiscuity, because trying to fight the city girl allegations shows that you actually share the same values you dismiss and if that’s not indirectly slut shaming your fave black queen, then Idk what is.

yeah, shaming Alicent or Rhaenyra for seeking happiness and freedom is something I’d never do because I’m at least consistent with my viewpoints. Rhaenyra in particular saw her mother suffer year after year doing her duty until her father killed her in his search of a son. Then had to contend with him creating a new family, being alone and seeing him want to marry her off to what she saw as a death sentence. Rhaenyra being angry and questioning those customs/values is valid given her experiences. Alicent is also entitled to her happiness, the only difference is that I’m not obsessed with women holding onto notions of propriety (a misogynistic construct, btw) in a system set to make them suffer for years as she had. She’s due some freedom, but that also doesn’t stop her from being a hypocrite.

The people who I AM calling bs on are people who clearly have had their minds rotted by their Madonna-whore complexes. People who believe Alicent retains her “propriety” through her suffering, but Rhaenyra being “promiscuous.” Or Cole fans who called Rhaenyra a rapist and manipulator for the power imbalance their dynamic has but suddenly cheering for alicole when there’s more evidence of a power discrepancy there.

You’re all scrambling to reconcile your logic with this new development and it reeks of hypocrisy. I rest easy knowing that my viewpoints have NEVER hinged on shaming any woman in HotD or coddling a grown man for sleeping with a tipsy teenager.
