regarding the rhaegar romantasy, lyanna is described as a child/girl multiple times and in twow arianne is upset when she sees elia sand (same age/personality as lyanna) kissing feathers. the shippers will never convince me we’re not meant to question it. lyannas death is enough to make anyone sane realize it’s more complicated that a pure romance (which is totally incommensurate with the themes in the book anyway)
I think he is meant to be a romantic figure but just in a very distant “he died too young way” but I’ve said multiple times that grrm put in little hints like making the only other prominent Frey character who wants to marry a younger girl from the north being named rhaegar💀 being a whole weirdo contrasted with petyr Frey who is killed by catelyn or that the naerys- aegon thing is followed extremely closely to a disturbing degree in rhaegar’s actions towards Elia and Jon’s legitimacy
Like grrm is a good writer but he’s also not that subtle and it pains me to think that instead of fandom having a “maybe the romantic view of a perfect prince running away for love” is going to be subverted but instead they decided to cope in having Elia being compliant to the thing that caused her humiliation and demise by her husbands actions in order to absolve him of any blame, like all of the what ifs vs his actual canon actions by fans basically makes him the biggest “potential man” of the series

hi, filipino here. just want to say that our independence day is june 12, not july 4. july 4 is when the united states government decided that they would recognize our freedom, specifically because it is your independence day and they wanted to cement their cultural hegemony over our country. and because of their influence on our country this was recognized for a time as our independence day. we still commemorate it, but i hope you can understand why we don’t want our independence day to be associated so closely with our former colonizer. it wasn’t even a work holiday for us.

"On my way back," Steve taps the ear piece to silence the comms. He's not asking permission. He's the captain, he gives orders.
Even for him, the first avenger, there are things that elude him. There are those moments that make him feel like that scrawny kid in Brooklyn taking his licks in the back alley. Like her.
He sits on the low stone wall, staring across the green plains of overgrown grass waving beneath the evening breeze. Across the distance, he sees her small figure as she takes down sheets from the line. Among the pollen and dander, he smells only her.
She doesn't know he's watching. She can't see as far as him. She can't hear his heartbeat like he can hers.
He traces the edge of his shield. His cowl sits him, he can feel his hair askew. He smooths it and sniffs. He rubs together his gloved palms and feels the gash on his knuckle. He squeezes until it stings.
"I'm gonna make her mine, all mine," he whispers as he grips tighter.
But how? How does he cross that barrier? How does he approach without scaring her?
He pops his finger out of the socket with a stifled grunt. He grits his teeth and stands. He pushes his head back on his neck and picks up the shield. He flicks it around without a thought, flinging it in a curve that slices the air.
He doesn't flinch as it comes flying back at him. It cracks him in the shoulder, putting it out of place, renting through the outer layer of armour. He huffs and catches the shield before it hits the ground.
He watched her nurse orphaned chicks back to health. He knows she can't resist a wounded animal.

I don’t think I ever showed off my beloved AKOTSK OC. (He’s in the center) he is Ser Tarrant Castian of Storm’s End. He’s been Lyonel Baratheon’s squire for seven years, and is kind of the squire-wrangler for the rest. He was knighted so he could fight for Ser Duncan in the Trial of Seven, but according to Lyonel it’s been long overdue. He also has a budding romance with Ser Raymun Fossoway (whom Tarrant knighted in the moments before the Trial) and would do anything to protect him.
He’s from a family of shipwrights in Storm’s End/Shipbreaker Bay and was basically raised at sea until he was taken to squire. He and Lyonel are equally in-tune when it comes to strange weather. Lyonel is something like a brother or a father to him depending on the day, but they’re very close friends despite their difference in station. Tarrant is one of the only people Lyonel will allow to push back on his ridiculousness, which is well-needed when Lyonel meets Dunk and loses all his senses.
Despite his prowess at sea and as a swordsman, he really excels as an archer, and Lyonel considers him a lucky charm to have on hunts through the kingswood and rainwood. He’s also a new member of Lyonel’s Stag Knights, who are a quick-response battalion of knights commanded by Lyonel himself. (Eventually, Tarrant will be named Stag Commander and suffer his Lord Paramount’s fawning for the rest of his life)
He is a very reserved man, highly observant, and dedicated. He’s devout in that he worships the land and nature, but he appreciates the teachings of the Seven as far as they allow him to be a good person. He has a strict sense of right and wrong, and isn’t afraid to stand up against injustice. In his pack he is a natural leader and cares deeply for his packmates, but it can sometimes take years to build enough trust for him to open up with anybody else.
He is my baby boy and I hope he and Raymun have many many many babies
