Adamson's sister is the one who sends the ED food on the anniversary of his death. The pictures at his bedside are one of who appears to be his sister and her kids and one of several work colleagues including Robby. It's heavily implied Adamson was married to the job and didn't have a wife or children. Much like someone else we know. Which could mean nothing.

Robby's hurt at Dana saying the Pitt survived without Adamson is so raw. Because to him it didn't. This is news to him, this is completely out of left field. He's felt Adamson's absence every goddamned day since he died. To Robby, the Pitt didn't move on after he passed, it didn't survive, because he's been hanging on by a thread ever since and he can't fathom how it could be different for anyone else.

the way robby's entire body stopped moving, stopped breathing, when dana said the pitt survived without adamson (before adding herself and robby to the list of people it can survive without), because maybe the pitt did, but part of robby died that day, and he still can't understand how anyone else who was there is moving or breathing or continuing on. that wound is always oozing, the narrative is always haunted, etc.
