like. it would perfectly explain why Dean's intuition is so frequently spot on, and it's extremely funny because it would piss him off so fucking much

like this is very much a "Han Solo is actually Force sensitive and is so annoyed about it" situation

like consider, perhaps the reason the Winchester family got involved with the Men of Letters at all was because a few generations back, John's great-great-grandfather or whoever was a gifted psychic who got inducted into the organization on those grounds and the talent for it ended up skipping a couple generations.

like I do think it's objectively hilarious if Sam actually has no innate psychic abilities, that's straight up just the demon blood, but Dean has magic intuition that makes his paranoia correct way more often than not. like how is that not the funniest imaginable outcome?

also, crucially, Cas knows. he is not aware that Dean and Sam don't know, and has been operating under the assumption that if Dean Knew™ something in a psychic way, he would tell him it was that.
