astrid took archery as a kid. her parents forced her into a bunch of extra curriculars and she threw a tantrum that she didn’t choose any of them herself so they let her choose one and she chose archery. she ended up dropping it after pete was born in order to take care of him but later picked it back up and started rehoning her skills when the fayz started, not liking being forced to have sam protect her and wanting to protect herself.

drake has acute ocd. he’s very particular w numbers; everything has to be done in equal numbers. he counts his steps, how many times he does things, how things are organised, colours have to match, he wipes things down excessively, everything in his area has to be exponentially neat, he’s very much not a fan of messes he crashes the fuck out when things are out of place, he’d even count to make sure he shoots someone an equal amount of times 😭 as the series goes on he starts getting messier and less organised to showcase the gaiaphage taking more and more control of his brain and him being less himself, less methodical

i don’t think i’ve ever actually talked about this but in my head the reason elwood and dahra broke up is bc elwood felt like he wasn’t doing enough to help people. obviously without the hospital everyone would have died very early on but he felt like he wasn’t doing enough to prevent people from needing the hospital in the first place. dahra disagreed. elwood didn’t like being cooped up in a basement all the time so they argued about it a lot, leading to their split.

also, i feel like elwood is a very touchy individual and dahra sort of isn’t, not past the average amount whereas elwood needs some kind of contact practically at all times and it got too much for her after a while.

while we’re on the topic of elwood ive decided he’s a foil to lance. they were both sports geeks before the fayz and were also friends, and both kept their heads down for most of the beginning of the fayz until elwood decided he wasn’t doing enough and joined edilio’s army, and lance pivoted in the opposite direction. i feel like elwood is what lance wants to be but he wants to be him while also being a bigot, which was never gonna work so he resents him.

elwood and dahra were popular before the fayz. it says elwood was the star athlete which leads me to believe HE’S popular, and dahra being his girlfriend would likely make her popular by extension.

lana has bipolar. she was diagnosed and on medication prior to the fayz but obviously it ran out eventually and started using the drinking to self medicate. she can go from being super productive and helpful and even somewhat friendly (by lana standards) to borderline suicidal and struggling to leave her hotel room. she can tend to be really extreme on both the manic and depressive ends of the spectrum.

mary absolutely HATES sam bc she’s a mean lesbian who has feelings for astrid and decided he’s not good enough for her. is astrid’s secret weapon in an argument, she will deadass threaten to sick mary on him like she’s a feral dog and i love this about her

i don’t like the characterisation that mary’s this cutesy soft spoken mother figure just bc she runs a daycare that girl is a BITCH and she runs that shit like the navy. she’s the only person sam’s scared of besides drake bc somehow this 5 foot tall ginger lesbian is able to put him in the ground without powers and they both know it
