aren’t maps pedophiles and predators? Even if they don’t act on it it’s not good.
Some maps are pedos, some aren’t. Pedophilia means the attraction to prepubscent children, not minors as a whole. Map is basically a general attraction to minors, including teens, infants, and pubescent children. You can still technically be a predator without being a map and you can be a map without being a predator, it all depends on reasoning. Colleen Ballinger was a predator towards children and her primary reasoning for doing so to “entertain” people. It is unknown if she is a pedophile or not, but even if she wasn’t, she would still be a groomer and a predator, regardless of sexuality or paraphilias. Some other reasons for sexually abusing children would be wanting control over a child, wanting to “punish” a child, or “clout”.
I’ll say this: I’ve had violent sexual fantasies towards humans (not animals, to be clear). In fact, I have seen someone who was (and still is) in my violent fantasies in real life, we went to school together. And nothing happened. I don’t even think that person knows me because I went out of my want to avoid them. I was attracted to a dog I saw on the street last afternoon, also nothing happened. My point? Behavior doesn’t equal attraction. A non-offending map having sexual/romantic fantasies isn’t hurting anyone, unless they are contacting children in real life, then yes, that would be harmful.
Stigmatizing maps would cause them to develop depression/anxiety/suicidality because their livelihoods are threatened when they even mention being a paraphile. If one keeps all of those emotions (horniness, suicidality, guilt, shame, etc) bottled up inside of them, they will either kill themselves (doesn’t solve anything) or they will sexually offend because mental health professionals may be biased towards maps and end up not helping them. That is (partially) why I made this space, so us paraphiles can rant/vent in peace without judgement.
