I am unreasonably excited for Pokemon Winds and Waves.
Probably more than I should be, considering that ever since the transition to 3D, the mainline Pokemon games that have been put out so far are pretty hit-or-miss for a lot of folks. But, I am excited regardless, and I really do want to be optimistic for WiWa.
So, to hopefully calm my excitement a little bit, I'm going to do a little self-indulgent product: Drawing A Random Pokemon (pretty much) Every Day Until Winds&Waves Releases! I'll be posting my drawings on this blog as a way to organize all of the drawings beyond them taking space in my photos app. Besides, I can stand to post on this account more than once a year!
Below the cut are my self-imposed rules for this project:
You don't have to draw Every Single Day. Though that would be a cool challenge, I do have a life outside of fanart that I can't ignore. So, if I can't draw one day due to any reason, no worries! I'll just do it when I can.
Don't worry about how polished the final product is. While I will always want to make good drawings, I'm not gonna worry about rendering. Clean lineart, coloring and shading will be things I both want to add on and have the time and energy to do so. But they're not a requirement, so even a messy sketch can count as a Pokemon drawn.
If I pull a Pokemon that has an evolution line, the following days will be dedicated to its other evo stages. This is definitely a for-my-sanity rule. It helps me organize my drawings a little bit better, it means I can post more than one drawing in a single post on this blog, and it helps me get to learn Pokemon that I'm not as familiar with a bit better.
No need to draw alternative forms. For example, I won't be drawing a normal Meowth if I've already drawn a Galarian one. Same goes for other regional variants, as well as Mega Evos and Gigantamax forms. This is, again, a bit of a for-my-sanity rule; It's another way to organize, and it means I won't have to draw two almost-the-exact-same Pokemon.
Most importantly, have fun! As stated earlier, this is meant to be a self-indulgent project. If I'm not having fun, something's wrong and I need to pause for a moment to identify it.
I've already started the project today, by pulling and drawing Excadrill! I'll be posting that and my drawing of Drillbur tomorrow. See you then!

The 8th drawing of my self-indulgent Drawing a Random Pokemon challenge! If you're interested, here are my self-imposed rules.
Now, if anyone has followed along so far, they'll know this one took weeks to come out. That is because this design is so full of details that it made me completely lose the desire to draw. I couldn't will myself to get up and continue the challenge because it meant that I would be right back to trying to draw this fucking guy and at least trying to get its proportions right. But as much as I might've disliked all the measuring and sketching, I dislike backing down from a challenge even more... even if I'm the only one doing the challenge and the rules are mine to make and adjust. Anyways, I'm at least a little proud of the result and for my ability to actually complete it!

I pulled Roggenrola a few days ago and, despite being busy with other things, I have finally completed my drawings of the whole evolution line! It was surprisingly more work than I thought it would be, but I was still very happy to do these drawings since the Roggenrola line is my favorite rock-type line in pokemon.

Drawing 3 of my Drawing Random Pokemon challenge! Today I pulled and drew Dracovish, introduced in Sword and Shield. I had some really bad period cramps today, but I pulled together enough energy to get this done. I also tried out something different from the previous two drawings by coloring with a charcoal brush! Pipeline on Procreate, specifically.

I really enjoy seeing other GOW fans’ headcanons for alive/grownup Calliope, so I thought I’s share my own AU: Where Calliope becomes Pluto, god/goddess of the underworld!
I imagine she finds some of Hades’ old gear and revamps it to fit her own style. I also imagine that her flute was repurposed into a necklace (not drawn here) or was burned with the rest of her first body.
