Gecqua
Now first off I wanna say, I’ve actually warmed up to Gecqua a lot since Pokemon Day 2027
I honestly expected not to even have him as a contender for who I’m picking for my second game
Yeah that’s right I’m the person who buys both versions of the game!
But over the past few months he’s grown on me and now I’m gonna use him as my starter for Waves
Now thought to get onto my thoughts about his final typing
Most Unlikely Typing
Water/Fire Type
Water/Grass Type
I feel these 2 are pretty self explanatory
Water/Bug: hey! Just cause Gecqua has big eyes doesn’t make it a bug! Ya’ll are sounding reaaal ignorant right now lol
Ones I Really Don’t Want
Water/Dark: A mentioned before I want the type triangle we’ve had for a generation and a half to break, there has to be more secondary starter types then just Dark, Fighting and Ghost!
Water/Fighting: The cycle needs to end and that means Water/Fighting needs to go too
Water/Poison: Yeah I’ve never really gelled with any Water/Poison type pokemon minus Tentacruel (I guess my inner genwunner coming out or whatever lol)
Water/Normal: Bo-Ring
The Ones That Are Possible But I Don’t Think So
Rock Ground & Steel: Gecqua seems too agile to be any of these
Water/Dragon: As cool as it would be to have this little gecko become a water dragon, I have this weird feeling the legendary for Waves is going to have the Water/Dragon typing and I doubt they’d have Gecqua still it’s thunder like that, speaking of thunder
Water/Electric: Does give off “electric” vibes ya know?
Water/Flying: While it would be interesting I just can’t see this little guy growing wings and learning how to fly.
Water/Ice: never say never I suppose
Most Likely
Water/Psychic: Okay so this is totally vibe based when I first saw Gecqua it screamed out Psychic Type! I think it’d be a solid combo and unique as we don’t have any Water/Psychic starters
Water/Fairy: Fairy could also work as a secondary typing I mean I’m not excited about it but it could definitely work.
Water/Ghost: I know! I know! I talked a lot of crap about breaking the triangle but idk it also has a ghosty vibe, whadda ya want from me! 😭😭😭
