This is easily one of the CRAZIEST videos I've ever gotten. I was rafting down a river when a Yellow Jacket came, landed on my bright pink waterproof phone pouch, and started drinking from the water droplets that had gathered there.
The most amazing part is how the water droplet magnifies the Hornet's mouth parts, so you get to see them up-close!!!! It was FASCINATING to witness!
Here's some of my favorite still shots from that video:
What do you think? 🥰
please vote for tylenol to have her face on a beer can $1 for 1 vote and the donation goes to the baltimore animal rescue and care shelter
TYLENOL HAS MADE IT INTO THE TOP TEN LETS FUCKING GO
VOTE NOW SO WE CAN SEE TYLENOL'S FACE ON BEER CANS IN THE DITCHES BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!
If you all will allow me a moment to analyze the competition as it exists, there's something interesting going on with the numbers.
As we all know, thanks to the support of the good people of Tumblr, Tylenol has experienced a meteoric rise to second place. Even though her competition is stiff, I believe in Tylenol's ability to go the distance.
But let's take a look at the competition:
Elmer seems to be a lovely boy. I have no qualms with Elmer, and think he would look fantastic on a beer can. But what about Elmer's campaigns? Who is the power behind the throne here, and how have they managed to find such breakout success on this competition?
A handful of wealthy donors are trying to buy this competition.
At the end of the day, all donations are good donations here. This is a charity event so every penny earned is going to help animals in need. But it's not lost on me that Elmer's current ranking is thanks entirely to a few individuals with the financial means to put their thumbs on the scale.
Tylenol's donors, comparatively, are small and numerous, mostly $1-10 donations from many passionate believers in what she stands for (autism and pain relief I think).
Overall, the donations tell a very different story than what the base ranking shows you. Elmer is held aloft by just 24 donors and bolstered by a few wealthy patrons, whereas Tylenol has won the hearts of literally hundreds of people. Even the current third place, Abby, owes her ranking to numerous small contributions rather than one or two large ones.
Tylenol is the people's princess.
Tylenol is the people's princess
Good news!
Tylenol is real! I love you Tylenol!
A vote for Tylenol is a vote for the people
i think if your kid is precociously good at an adult hobby like cooking or sewing or whatever and you try to monetize it by turning them into a three-year-old influencer you should be locked in a funhouse until you change your mind
Scans of my C&O Canal trip! I know I draw a lot of rocks but it's really nice to draw some lush foliage now and then too

One of the best stories humanity ever produced was a draft of a rewrite of the Epic of Gilgamesh written by a Ecuadorian poet in 1935. It was tossed into a fireplace by an angry boy and lost forever. Another of humanity's best was told 65,000 years ago and was overheard by a small tribe of embarked Neanderthals boating down a river in what is now northern Georgia. A short woman at the bank scrubbed a wooden idol in the water and sang an ancient tale in an unknown language. These two are eclipsed by everything produced by two brothers at the coast of what is now Cameroon between 503 BC and 490 BC, which they shared with some family and friends, and were beloved by everyone except a sour uncle.
Ohhhh that is too much for you little spider…
Ohhh nooo…
smoking that shit that made the Miocene epic

Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
Hit "view post" and lost it
dick makes people mentally ill. dick havers, dick wannabes and dick lovers are all insane. it's like toxoplasmosis, you have compulsive need to defend and push and worship dicks all the time and spead your dick mania to everywhere you go.
this seems rational and grounded in empirical evidence

Imagine if we did the “public libraries are punk” thing for other subcultures. Imagine if people made shirts that said “Soup kitchens are grunge” or “Mixed Use Urbanism is Juggalo”.

Finding out Hans Zimmer is a transphobe genuinely had me falling to my knees
Thank you blastybaku for explaining this!/gen
If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.
This is a pretty major letdown, ngl.
Anyways, fuck transphobes, which includes Hans Zimmer, apparently.
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.

Now that we've connected cows to the internet, we can finally achieve great grandpappy's goal of utopia. They always figured, back in the 90s, that the more folks they could put on the internet, the better. Turns out that wasn't entirely right, but it helped support ad sales, so we ignored it for awhile. Until we ran out of people. Cows were the next big step! You can train them to click on banner ads and watch ninety-minute YouTube tutorials about how to eat grass, and watch the revenue roll in.
I'm sorry, what? You're asking how cows can buy things? Uh, that sounds a whole lot like 20th-century thinking, friend. Nobody needs to buy things. They just need to look at ads. And cows can do that. Have you ever seen them look at a fence? Thousands of times less engaging than even the most boring Ford commercial; we have the data to prove it. And later, when the cows catch the entrepreneurial spirit of our glorious forever-age, they can make their own ads, and sell those ads to websites that have cow-friendly placement spots for cow businesses.
What are you talking about, the underpinnings of civilization are dependent on an eternal underclass? Well, sure, we ran out of humans to show the ads to. Every single person being forced to watch six hours of ads a day made the individual ads relatively worthless, which really steamed our clams. All of you poors fell off the demographic bubble and it turns out the average cow is more valuable. They're bigger, after all, so more land value is spent on them. Your ad clicks are worth way less!
Are you accusing us, your betters, of equipping every cow in North America with $15,000 VR headsets because we don't want their lives to be vastly improved but instead enslaved into an eternal nightmare of corporate chicanery? That sounds preposterous. I'm so mad about this accusation, I'm going to go click some ads about it. See yourself out.
Nowadays, cities are big advocates for public transit. And that's basically it. Advocacy is free, and actually making trains and buses run on time costs a bunch of money. We don't have any money to spare, because we gave it all to some guy who swore that he was going to manufacture knock-off lawn gnomes here. That'd create, like, fifty jobs, painting the little gnome faces and their razor-sharp teeth.
Indeed, public transit makes a lot of sense as an investment. People need to get somewhere, and making it easier to get a bunch of people where they want to go, quickly, can only be a good thing. That is, unless you live in the soap opera universe, where getting somewhere quicker means that you are more likely to catch your significant other cheating on you with your identical evil twin. You expected me to be stuck in traffic, Sofia? Like a peasant? Efficient, frequent, and convenient mass transit has put the lie to your antiquated concept of congestion, just as it has to this marriage!
We know, of course, of the opposition to public transit. Used car dealerships wield a shocking amount of power in municipal government. They'd rather destroy civilization than be told that they can't sell you a 320,000-mile 2001 Neon for $11500 (with extra finance charges.) How dare they mess with our kids' ability to get on a maglev bullet train that takes them to work in nanoseconds.
That's why I'm running for office. I already know that used car dealerships are run by evil bastards who mark up the price of beaters. Under my administration, I will not listen to them out of principle, just as you wouldn't listen to a high-strung businessman's pressure group called the United Puppy Grinders. And I'll force through that public transit, because it's the only way to get the rest of you jerks off my roads. See you on the train after I blow the head gasket on my Reliant for the third time this year and have to get home.
