if they could’ve frozen that moment in time, if they could’ve held off the empty and billie and the end of the world for just a few more minutes, do you think dean would’ve pulled cas close and said, “if you could have me, if you knew you could have this, what would you want for us?” and then dean’s hand is moving, scrambling to find cas’ as he interlocks their fingers. “would it be this?” dean asks, squeezing cas’ hand as he strokes his thumb over the back of cas’ knuckles. “or this?” dean says, as he keeps their hands intertwined and wraps his other arm around cas’ shoulder, bringing him into a hug that’s soft and gentle, lingering in the tenderness he’s always wanted to hold cas with but didn’t know he was allowed. “or maybe this?” and dean presses their foreheads together, brushing their noses against each other until he can feel cas’ breath ghosting against his cheek. “or would you want this?” and dean slowly tilts his head, nudging cas backwards softly until he has cas against the wall and he can slowly chase cas’ lips into a kiss that’s soft and sweet and desperate and yearning and biting and frantic. and when dean breaks the kiss, shaky breath and shaky knees, he finds cas’ other hand and rests cas’ palm against his own wildly beating heart, murmuring against cas’ mouth, “because you already have this right here.”
