Dude..this line..we know Jax is jealous of Zooble & Gangles relationship and their ability to actually maintain an authentic and healthy relationship.
We also know Jax has a weird and unhealthy..attatchment towards Gangle
When I first heard the line in the pic above I thought “There’s no way he actually believes that. That’s the mask.” But he *does*..sorta. He’s convinced himself it’s true because **it justifies his obsession/fixation with her**
In Jax’s mind:
“She wears phony masks and acts like someone she’s not all the time, so we’re basically not that different and she’s not above me or anything. We’re the same amount of bad and we’re on the same level.”
“She dosent push back when I torment her..that has to mean she’s *into* it! Works out great for me!”
That moment from ep 6 where Zooble partners up with Gangle and Jax grunts in frustration/resentment is literally like someone who has the object of their obsession in their hands, and someone just walks by and swipes it away from them.
THAT EP 9 SCENARIO WITH ZOOBLES ABSTRACTION??
“Lol ur friend died. Yeah yeah really sucks boohoo by the way if you think I’m mocking them you dont have any room to talk because you’re *also* disrespecting them by wearing that phony mask. Anyway, now that they’re finally out the way I can have you all to myself, so once you’re done crying over them come to my room so we can have sex.”
Like..
“I’m totally in the right to feel this way. Shes just as phony and therefore just as bad as I am, and she never pushes back so she’s *into* my torment, so it’s cool! If Zooble would just get outta the way I could finally have her and we could do anything I wanted together, and I’d get to fuck her.”
Look man those Jax “other people abstraction” scenarios gave me a lot to chew on and I am here for it. It is easily my favorite part of the finale.
